Don't listen to him, his are the worst, ****ing pre-war garbage when football was played with wooden balls on cobbled pitches.

There's one I started about thought provoking photos I'd like to see again. It's got a link to the website which I've forgotten and want.

Found a Smug prediction that you'd win a trophy in 3 years, dated Nov 2013... you got to a final, almost a great prediction.

Of course there are exceptions with this term, your club have been trying that method for 60 years and haven't hit a trophy in all that time.

    <laugh> what's that second one?

Smudger and Joey Barton in that last pic, you've got nobody like them in your side for next season pal. #Fighters

    Some pre-season tour trophy <laugh>

People forget how good Smith was for us in the Championship. I don't know if he officially got the award but he was generally considered our player of the season playing defensive mid. He would have played every game in the premier league if we hadn't signed Tiote at the end of the summer window. I'd love to see us try and tempt Barton back if Burnley don't go up. I know, it would never happen.

You can't knock their work rate, I'm trying to think who was part of your squad that year down there.

You had the spanish LB who went to Liverpool, Enrique, you had Coloccini and that Williamson cb, RB you signed from us Danny Simpson.

Midfield you had Smith, Barton, Nicky Butt? Kevin Nolan... another English lad as well.

Up front, Carroll and... Marlon Harewood <laugh>

Tell you what, that midfield was bang on for bouncing right back up, plenty of scrap in them lot, that's what got you back up at the first attempt.

Butt and Harewood didn't really play. Barton actually became a key man for us the first year back in the premier league, I think he only made about 5 apps for us in the Championship, he was out injured all season. I think our generic team was

    Harper
    Simpson Coloccini Taylor Enrique
    Routlege Smith Guthrie Gutierrez
    Carroll Lovenkrands

It was a perfect team for destroying the Championship to be honest, Routlege crossing to Carroll must have led to about 20 goals.

Well Nolan was your top scorer so he must have played a few <laugh>

Guthrie, that's who I was thinking of.

I remember Barton having a scrap with that Arsenal player when you come back up.

Oh yeah, Nolan played every game. Up front with Carroll I think. Lovenkrands may have just come in the January and mostly rotated with Carroll. When Guthrie got injured Nolan went in to midfield, yeah I remember that.

Aye, first game of the season. Took excepion to Gervinho being a diving little ****.Grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and picked him up, Gervinho slapped him and got sent off <laugh>
