Lots of conflicting reports if he did hand a million quid back to the club then you have to question how many players would have done that, not many that is for sure. Either way he obviously is pretty much finished as a player if the likes of MKD are signing him and there isn't exactly a queue forming to snap him up.
It's very worrying. I can see him coming back and playing for 12k a week or whatever having now made his fortune, and Grayson actually rating him. Drive an even bigger wedge between fans so that Bates has more enemies to slag off to strengthen his reign of filth. It's pretty sad that I'm hoping we get outbid by a third division franchise club for any player, but that's where we are.
