I wouldn't say that. I've got a Garmin one and it's primarily my golf watch; yardages, hazards etc. It's really good, maps your rounds, scores and such like. It's also a smart watch so I keep it on for the steps and heart rate and sleep tracking. Can also track runs and cycles and pretty much anything else. Was bought specifically for golf though.
