Oh I see. You've discovered YouTube. Dear me. Podolski is to speed, as Merteseker is to a tight turning-circle. Both Double Deckers, with the handbrake left on.
i did just come across this.. Not sure how far back this goes as there's no Henry or Ronaldo. The fastest speeds clocked in the EPL Top Ten Fastest Footballers 1 – Theo Walcott – 22.72mph 2 – Sol Campbell – 22.50mph 3 – Mari Balotelli – 22.37mph 4 – Gareth Bale – 22.37mph 5 – Ashley Cole – 22.37mph 6 - Chris Smalling – 22.37mph 7 – Jack Wilshere – 22.35mph 8 – Fernando Torres – 22.27mph 9 - Didier Drogba – 22.27mph 10 – Andy Carroll – 22.24mph
Podolski is much faster than your average footballer is. I wouldn't say that he has lightning pace, but he's by no means slow.
Huth was mentioned a few times, I think he is pretty quick over the first few yards. There is huge difference between him and Per Mertesacker. As for Podolski, I wouldn't call him extremely quick, but I wouldn't include him here at all. He has got good pace, it's his slow reactions and decision making which makes him look sloppy at times. And in terms of only sprinting, Aaron Ramsey is NOT slow. Throwing in another name: Nemanja Vidic deserves a mention here.
