    No.
Metal Box had their own printing department, but I was in a small independent place up Woodend Ave, near the railway line.
    It's long since defunct.

One of the best scams ever took place at Metal Box after they closed it. They left a gang of lads to tidy the place up after they had removed all of the equipment. They were supposed to sign in using an exercise book which they duly did. The job was supposed to be for a week but nobody cam and told them that they were finished and their pay appeared each week in their bank accounts. So they turned up for work each day, signed-on, made a brew and read the paper, signed-off at 5. It lasted for nearly 9 months until some body at Metal Box Personnel noticed the payments. <laugh>

Woodend Ave. Does that lead to Woolton or Hunt's Cross, or both?

    Hunt's Cross.
Woolton a bit to the north west. Had to drive/ride through it to get to work.

70's. Not that old yer batard.
It was a well-paid job then.
Having said that, I got the bus for my first couple of years as an apprentice, then a motorbike at around 19. Got my first car at 22.

Hot water came from a back boiler in a coal fire in ours, ****ing freezing in the winter unless you put lit firelighters in your shorts pockets.

    Until they wanted a lift!

I loved my Beetle has a Snoopy sticker on the back. Then I got a company car - posh that!

That was a Cortina. Delivered to our offices in Knightsbridge. I drove it as far as Hyde Park Corner before it caught fire!
