useless sack of **** manager. There is a reason he has done nothing in his career... he isn't a very good manager. Throw in the most incompetent board ever seen
Ex Yeovil, Grimsby and Scarborough for a reason. Had his tactical limitations horribly exposed already as far as I am Concerned. Going to the smallest club in the league and setting up for a 0-0 draw
A tipping point possibly reached already with Slade. Attacking an interviewer/ fan for 'pessimism' when he was only asking RS about the additional signings that he himself had publicly promised. Excuse us for feeling pessimistic Russell when we have just lost to Bury and Cheltenham, & seen our club systematically destroyed over the last two years. Even more worrying - there is no sign that we have bottomed out. We could be the next Portsmouth - the biggest Club in League 2 next season. The bollox about a 'top 6 budget' was precisely that - said to dupe people into buying STS. An already weak and poor team is now even worse - 20 players out and a journeyman manager obviously hired to steady the ship while the few remaining assets are looted. Massive hostile protests are the only answer.
Worrying signs of delusion already being shown by Slade after 2 games - claiming again we had control of the game and lots of chances when the BBC's own stats last night showed we had 1 shot on target after 68min Does Slade call that playing well FFs?
You have our sympathies. He is apparently displaying all the traits that drove us mad across here last season. What's probably worse is that Uncle Fester is a clingon and will be there until he's pushed out like at Cardiff. He will continue to trot out the same overtly plausible stuff at the pre and post match press conferences without a clue as to what it actually takes to change things around - particularly during a game. I realise you have your owner issues, but this guy has been appointed to paper over the cracks and not tackle (through sheer inability some would say) the real problems. Good luck.
Dour, boring and lacking in any imagination. A typical 4-4-2 dinosaur of a manager with no idea how to change a game when Plan A wasn't working. He rarely changed the system unless forced down that route. During a game he would invariably change like for like in his substitutions rather than change the shape of the game. In fact, the best patch of games we had was when Kenwyne Jones left mid season and we were under a transfer embargo. We were so short of any quality up front that he was virtually forced to play one of our wide men Anthony Pilkington up there and what do you know - it came off. His imports to the club were also a disaster. His judgement of the standard of players the club required during last season was also appalling with some real turkeys arriving - and thankfully now departed.
He has made a very similar start with us. Hardly any goals scored in the pre season friendlies, and only 3 shots on target in two games so far. 1,000 of us went away to Bury last Saturday to watch a team Slade had blatantly set up for a 0-0 draw against the smallest club in the league. Slade's tactics to date have consisted of recalling the hated vermin that is Roger Johnson & getting him to pump aimless high balls 70 yards up the pitch. The scarce resources he has been given have been wasted on ageing injured journeymen . Slade only got the job because he agreed to work for our w*nker CEO without written guarantees on non interference in team matters. A 3 year contract at this stage of his career was too good to resist. There was some goodwill for Slade to begin with but unlike his waistline that is now very thin
Any Tom & Jerry fans? Remember when Tom realised he'd been made a fool of by Jerry and a big "Jackass" bubble would appear above his head? That's Slade, and may explain his petulance.
By means not a message of gloat - but it does show that despite his football not being universally popular, CP understood the foundations to this style of football and managed to seek and recruit the players to fulfil it. I never bought in to the criticism that it was a league to be walked and it was poor. It probably explains why managers like slade have never progressed consistently further than "average" league one sides.
http://m.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/14..._t_see_any_more_major_departures_at_Charlton/ Chances of departures and slade looking a bit silly? I would wager that Tex and Ba will definitely go, maybe we will keep Lookman until January.
Slade already looks a bit silly Just imagine his conversation with Meire when appointed. "I've gotta have that Jordan Botaka. The season defends on it" No, me neither
