I refuse to believe anything about N'Zogbia to us. All the ****ter signs point to Newcastle being his destination, even if 99% of twitter is made up on the spot, as a Sunderland fan, its enough to put doubt in my mind.

I wouldn't believe a single thing posted on that website or even let if influence a decision. I also find it very difficult to believe anything from newspapers, especially **** peddlers like the Mirror and the Sun. As a general rule, I believe a transfer rumour when I see a picture of the player on the official club website wearing the shirt.

Precisely. Which is why Im inclined to disagree with HMT. My rule of thumb for this window is never get my hopes up. Zero disappointment therefore.

Seriously, do any Toon fans see the logic in having 3 left sided French midfielders in the side?

All of which perform best out wide?

Seems like a balance issue could happen to me, and where is the leadership coming from??

Steven Taylor? Fabricio Coloccini? Joey Barton (If he stays)?

Well, over here it's being reported that Sevilla are about to sign Coloccini, apparently the Toon want £6million and Sevilla wanna pay £4million.

Barton? Is it likely he'll stay? If he does stay will he play? Fat Mike wants him out for making his mouth go about him at the fan roadshows, will Pardew pick him against Ashleys wishes?

Taylor? Maybe, he certainly seems to have passion for the badge, but you need more than one leader om the park, especially with players like Marveaux, Ba and N'Zogbia, none of whom are renowned for their 'team bonding' strengths.

I think you're signing well, but it definitely needs balanced out.

Wey Ben Arfa is going to be played in the "Nolan" hole behind the strikers and let's be honest Marveaux has to be backup as he's clearly a crock (same as I hope Ba is backup or I will get worried), so N'zogbia if he did come would be first choice on the left (or right if we keep Gutierrez there and use inverted wingers).
Still doubt he will come, reckon he'll end up at you lot or the bin dippers (who seem to be buying anyone and everyone).
As for leadership; it's definitely a worry, but we'll have to wait and see whether they are French surrender monkeys or like Tiote and combative/willing to put their all into games.

I don't think Coloccini will leave , yes I know , I said the same thing about Nolan but don't see the point in selling Coloccini when we haven't got other good enough defenders to replace him.

As I said Barton could leave but if he doesn't then I think he'll get playing time , if you're paying a player 55k a week , you might as well play , right?

Although leadership qualities are the only qualities I am worried about heading into the new season , as two of the aforementioned could leave , although as I've said before doubt Colo will.

Don't think it's such a drama that we've gotten these three players at the same time as they can all play in different positions. For example , Cabaye is a box to box midfielder , Marveaux can play on either flank or behind the strikers and same goes to Ben Arfa. Think Jonas will leave as it looks like either N'Zogbia or Barnetta is coming.

I reckon Barton will see out his last year. And STaylor is a decent shout for captain surely? Throw Steve Harper into the mix.

Home Sport Football Football News Arsenal transfer news: Shock Joey Barton move being weighed up by Arsene Wenger
Jun 19 2011 by Tom Hopkinson, The People
ARSENE WENGER is *weighing up the most astonishing transfer swoop of the *summer ... for Joey Barton.

The Arsenal manager has finally accepted the need to inject some bite and experience into his team of perennial underachievers.

And the Newcastle bad boy’s ability to tick both boxes means he is very much a candidate for the Frenchman. Wenger has been *discussing Barton with senior members of his staff.

And while he was a *footballing pariah when he served a jail sentence for assault in 2008, Barton is believed to

have kicked his drinking habit and improved his battered reputation on and off the pitch.

Wenger must now decide whether or not to follow up his initial interest with a firm offer for Barton, who is available for around £1.5million.

The midfielder has one year left to run on his £65,000-a-week contract at Newcastle but he has been told he will not be *offered another deal.

So the club, who last week parted with Kevin Nolan, are open to offers while they can still get a fee.

And despite his repeated desire to stay at St James’ Park, at the same time Nolan left, Barton admitted he would have to consider a move himself if a Champions League club came knocking.

He said: “I don’t want to leave Newcastle, my family’s settled in the area, I’ve got a great working relationship with everybody at the club.

“But if someone came in and, hypothetically, offered me Champions League football, whether I’d signed a five, six or seven-year deal at Newcastle, I’d have to consider it.”

Wenger has promised new signings will be made this summer – a deal for £12m-rated Lille and Ivory Coast striker Gervinho should be wrapped up soon – as he aims to end the Gunners’ six-year run without a trophy.

You need a decent striker to play alongside Ba as well, i guess if Colo does move, then you can look for a commanding centre half, a leader in that department.

You should be good to watch if nowt else, as you look like attacking wise you'll be good, and if Enrique and Colo go, you'll ship a lot as well, may be some high scoring games for you lot next season, at both ends!

They can have him mate, he's ****ing awful!

Slow, mentally weak, and an average finisher at best, a poor finisher the majority.

We were linked a few weeks back i'd actually vomit if we signed him.

What happened to Geordie Boot Boy, i told him the other week that Gervinho was going to Arsenal, he said 'i'll find you when he signs, i have my sources....'.

Im going to chuck in a twitter rumour Ive seen (Only from a few twatters though) because it would be an insane shock, its a position Newcastle need filling, and despite the ridiculousness of it, theres just enough about it to be believable.

    ......Djibril Cisse to the Toon.

Makes sense though? They need a striker, lived in the North East before, and of course, the French Connection.

Definitely agree with you about Erdinc , from what I've seen he goes missing way too often and had a poor goalscoring record in France last season so can't imagine how it will be in England!

If we sign him , I hope he can prove me wrong , I can only say that he'll be better than any of the other strikers we currently have , Ba aside.

That's hardly a difficult task though mate, but i guess any improvement is progress!

He's awful though, seriously, his mentality is shocking, his head drops at the slightest thing, and it stays down, he had a long, long run where he was a passenger last season, it cost PSG 3rd and champions league football.

Cisse?Tell you what, i think him and Ba would be a very good partnership, Cisse is a bit wild, but he makes things happen, and he scores goals.

You'll have to change your shirts to a ****ing tricolour soon enough...
