FA cup, the only shining light in Spurs history, and now they want to write it off.

Strange ****ers.

They have derided the FA Cup when we have won it, and Poch stated that it isn’t a big trophy - but now that they have a chance to win it will their ideas change?

probable outcomes:

Spurs don’t win it and FA Cup wasn’t a priority as 4th place is utmost priority

or

Spurs win it and their FA Cup win is the greatest achievement in football ever, and eclipses Trebles, Doubles, League titles, Invincibles, Champions League, European Cup, World Cup, wins by any team other than Spurs.

Poch made the valid point that winning the FA Cup does not elevate your team to the Elite teams...that's winning leagues and Champ Leagues. He's right and proof of that lies at our dear Neighbours who still can't wait for Wenger to leave and have the worst team out of the top 6. That was his point and he is spot on. His aims are a bit different to the PL posters of other teams, that's all.

A trophy is nice to win...he did not say it's a trophy we are not interested in, 2 semi finals in 2 years suggests we are very interested and yesterday we had a very strong team out.

It could be the step you need to take in order to get closer to the title or actually winning it.

The state of Chelsea right now and the fact that you've already beat united at 'home' this season makes you favourites for the FA Cup imo.

Having said that, against United or Chelsea in a final I'd still expect Spurs to bottle it.

3 wins in 4 years for Arsenal.

Using your elite team logic then only City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal are elite as they have won the PL more than once since it started. Liverpool are also in that elite group as they have won the CL.

Spurs havent won either the PL or the CL and using your logic aren’t then an elected team - thanks for clarification

So stop wanting Wenger out <ok>

I want him out as he isn’t the future, and we want to be challenging for the title and not be content with 4th place which we have been in the past.

Even at his worst he still has won us major trophies, so I shouldn’t grumble as it could be worse - we could be Spurs who nearly won something

...and yet you are no where near the Prem elite.

That was Poch's point.

The FA Cup is a nice little distraction, but not as important as consolidating our position among the Prem's elite in the top 4.

Yes, the lads want to win it, but not at the expense of CL footy.

A club like Spurs needs to be testing itself against Europe's best.

21 years of finishing above you and champions league football every year says they were premier elite. You finished 2nd last year and you'll probably finish 4th this year, dumped out of all the cups bar the one your club has decried for so long. A club like Spurs has already shown it's metal against europes clubs and found Gent & Juventus. <rofl>

We've won the title 3 times under Wenger, including two times when we did the double. We also have a bucket load of FA cups to show in that time and we've been consistently in the top 4 during his tenure (other than now, as his time is up) Compared to Spurs, we are a giant of a club in terms of premier league achievement.

You tested yourself against Europe's best and you bottled it, so here you are celebrating a top 4 trophy, despite knocking Wenger for it for the last 20 years.
