Sky's best race was Germany with 32.1% of viewers whilst their worst pull was at Valencia with only 11.6% of viewers. Overall 21.6% to Sky, 78.4% to BBC
So Sky haven't even cracked 1 million viewers yet? How long until Murdoch deems it a waste of cash and pulls the plug.
Well Sky sports highest ever viewing figure is 4.049 million viewers for the Manchester footy derby last May, so I doubt the F1 channel will ever be able to cater for the amount of F1 fans the BBC can Then again the move is good for fans isn't it.....
Replacing the golden era of the BBC with SkysportsLew...! *I mean* SkysportsF1! I don't think so, when I get to choose between BBC and Sky I will always choose BBC as they can go longer than 10 minutes without mentioning something about involving McLaren and I'm part of the majority here. "Believe in Macca......I mean! (better!)" So why doesn't Sky just pay the license fee for the BBC if that's their motto? They really haven't done anything new this year with what we got with the BBC. Oh wait, we got Damon Hill now! How riveting...
To be fair though, The BBC may as well be renamed RBBC, Red Bull Broadcasting whatever the c stands for.
Sky's ratings will probably increase though soon, the football season starts in a fortnight, there will be new stupid people subscribing for the big sport pack thingy, so some may watch the f1 whilst waiting for a match. EDIT: Just realised i'm one of those stupid people, my broadband is done by sky
I think Kyle was suggesting that the C stood for Cnut, trying to hold back the tide of pay TV taking over our sports viewing.
I'm just waiting and praying for the day when F1 is streamed on the Internet and every other sport follows suit and that will end the Sky empire forever! Tick tock Murdoch, tick tock, the Internet is coming to take all your billions away from sport!
Just realised that our poll says 19 out of 88 people would watch on Sky (where did we get 88 people from) which equates to 21.6% yes folks, as a forum we are that accurate
I have to say that I've laughed my head off at the recent postings in this thread! Brilliant! Hahehahahaee
