Today is the day F1 died for me. I can't watch the sport as it's proposed for next year.I'm not subscribing to Sky and supporting the Murdoch family, whilst impoverishing myself at the same time. This weekend is going to be my last race unless something is changed, only because I was going to watch before i heard this news. This reminds me of when the BBC said they were shutting down 606, I came over here straight away, we didn't hang about (my teams fans) on the other site. I'm not waiting for the BBC's coverage to fade away with the sport. Vettel's got it in the bag this year and that will be my last memory of F1.

I got something similar from my other half: "You know, you have been so lucky in Europe getting TV for free. In the rest of the World, if you don't pay, you get nothing!"

There's nothing like sympathy when you're upset... And that was nothing like sympathy!!<wah>

I dont want to pay for it, but I dont know I could sit at home on sunday knowing a formula 1 race is going on, ill look up what the options are. But one thing for sure is that I will not be paying SKY for a whole year for 1 channel every 2 weeks with a 4 month gap between seasons.

Still can't get over the fact F1 is split over two channels, the better BBC and the ****s Sky.
BBC are unbelievably unenthusiastic over the most illustrious sport in the world.. they don't even have a timer for the next sesh...
606 has gone and they don't care...it's a joke.
I want to snap Bernie's neck as he has cut the entertainment of 1000's who can't afford a subscription.

Presumably, a lot more pubs will be showing it from next year (unless there's some football match on).

I might just do what I do for football - get a foreign stream and listen to commentary via 5Live

Well, this is a matter for each of us Cowboy and I do not blame you for your efforts to watch the thing you love.

I am pleased that there are so many who have come to have a greater interest in motorsport, which has been - and still is - my life. But in using fora such as this I have come to know and respect a wider public than I would otherwise have contact with and I feel that it is a principle which I must uphold. Of course, it is also related to my whole view of Murdoch's News Corporation; his ambitions; and the skunks who pander to him in our paper-puppet government.

I am fast reaching the decision to emigrate. If they could, this country's power-mongers would sell our Grandmothers to facilitate Murdoch's contemptible ambitions, as has been shown by letting him own our most prestigious Metropolitan Police Force.

These are decisions to be made by each of us, and I understand that many will flock to fall at the feet of this man and his empire by not choosing to be concerned about his integrity or any doubts about his morality.

It's just that I cannot stomach it and will not allow myself to be counted as someone who subscribes and therefore directly funds it, any more…

F1 is a sport that should be watched FREE, the whole point of it is to ignite the passion of the poor and the rich over one weekend.
F1 is over ...for me....when the split gets going.

I was fooled into believing that Bernie would protect the sport from going to pay tv. The decision today though left me in no doubt that this man should go and has outstayed his welcome in this sport.

The sport would be better of without Bernie Ecclestone now and I will sign any petition or join any campaign group to make sure that he does. It's the fans who make this sport and it is the fans who should really put pressure on his removal from it.

Sly basterd, when he is interviewed his massive ego double the size of his own body shows us he is not pretending everything is going to be OK, and nothing is going to change.

Some good opinions being voiced here. It's quite reassuring to know that other people feel like this.

There is absolutely no way I will pay for F1. I enjoy the sport (if it is a sport?) and I am very unhappy that it is going to SKY even if at the moment it is only in part.
I can't for the life of me understand why people, some of them quite intelligent apparently, would pay to watch TV, pay to have an ugly dish nailed on their house and still have to watch all the adverts. Crazy.

Hello all, forget the introductions, forget the pathetic pettitions, what is it with these people? the best action has already been stated by another new or newish member here, we all need to organise en-masse, network with all the f1 forums and target the sponsors. I have already emailed exonmobile telling them that although I love their products I will not be buying them in the future nor will my immediate family and friends, I want to send Vodafone a email but cannot claim to be avoiding their products as I dont use them and they do ask for your vodafone telephone number etc so all those with vodafone, give them a blast.

We will fight them on the pitwall, we will fight them in the pitlane, at copse corner at every apex and every chicane. Ladies and Gentlemen we are now at war.

Start a dedicated thread with links and addresses of all the sponsors, each member adds as they find so we do not cross refference or repeat ourselves I am trying to find an email address for johnie walker whiskey so if anyone finds it please place in the appropriate thread when it is started and please someone start a thread here and hopefully we can all join together and fight.. spam every f1 forum as every war needs its soldiers.

YOUR SPORT NEEDS YOU!
