Well, situation is, Sandro ain't coming back for a while, WP bless him isn't good enough with his passing, and our defence needs protection now. I've watched him start this season and he's continuing as he left off, giving great protection, shame about the rest of the team! :D Short term necessary fix if this season is happen for us, we're playing catch up already. If Diarra is off and the money's right, its a no-brainer.

IF Diarra is off, he's a good short term option - perhaps we can get him on that season long loan that was mooted in the media earlier in the window? That way I can go back to not particularly liking him in a years time like I will with you-know-who

Part of me will find it amusing if (he who shall not be named) celebrates in the same manner he did for City upon scoring against his old club. As long as no stewards are harmed of course, don't wish that on anybody :(

i saw something on SSN earlier that used the wording "sky sources: tottenham are CLOSE to completing a move for lassana diarra.

either i've missed something over the last couple of days, but i've not seen the word CLOSE used. Generally, Sky never say that unless it's in a very very advanced stage.

so it looks like it could be Lass and Parker.

    not complaining one bit.

especially as we have adebayor, what a great signing! don't u think DB?!:1980_boogie_down:

I do - but as I posted previously, I don't think that Levy will spend money in this window of any significance because, in my opinion, he's aware that Harry is near top of the list to replace Crapello. Therefore players being brought in will either be like FREE like del, or loans like Anybuyer. And whats more, they will only be here for a year, clocking up a paypacket without anything near the effort or passion I expect of a Spurs player - happy to meander 'doing a job' knowing that someone else will pick them up next summer.

Ok. I disagree bout players not trying when on loan though.

Mido did the opposite when we had him, he was quality on loan but faded once we signed him permanently.

Why would loans players not care? Surely they want to impress to earn a permanent move and long contract even if they are mercenaries.

In general, players have to play well to keep their value up, its not in their, or their agents financial interest to be ****.

They are there to put themselves in the shop window, whether trying to prove themselves to their old club, their loan club or whomever, true.

But they know that its them they are playing for, not the team, they couldn't give a munky's arse about the team.

I don't think either of the players that we've signed are seriously thinking that Spurs are the club for them, one knows deep down that he is detested no matter what surface plaudits he may get, the other knows that he's still at the beginning of his career so what he does at Spurs matters not a jot.

Its not like either of them are Tottenham lads come back home (as Bellamy was for Cardiff last year) or previously magnificent players given a last hurrah on the top stage (Larsson at Man U)

If either Anybuyer or Failque are Spurs players on 1st September 2012, I will go and play in the traffic on the M1.

those comments are spin-doctor drivel, I'm afraid - the only telling part is "All I want is to play football and to enjoy myself and today I'm a Tottenham footballer"

In other words, tomorrow (used for emphasis only, not literally!) I'll be saying exactly the same thing about any other number of clubs if I get paid too...

I agree, but let's hope he proves us all wrong and we can look back on his past and say how he's changed.

His reaction was owed in no small way to the songs being sung at him.

Apart from L'Arse games, I expect nothing but petulance from him.

IF he gets more than 10 goals this season I will be ASTOUNDED.

    probably...

I can honestly say that whatever he does this year, even if his goals get us 4th or better in the league, I will never be a fan.

DB, if you'll be astounded by that, you therefore feel there's very little chance?

Why not see what odds you'll get at the bookies, place the bet and scan your betting slip in on your computer. Then Stick the shot of it on here in a new thread and we'll get it archived ready for the end of the season.

Then u can stick 2 fingers up at all of us. Surely that'd be very satisfying and make u very happy? :)

Other than the fact he has played for Arsenal, what other reason is there to dislike him OODB?

I don't understand your hatred of him.

He didn't just play for Arsenal, he scored 8 goals against us in his 3 years there.

His loyalties to them extended to wearing an Arse shirt in an interview whilst he was under contract to the blue mancs.

And he scored the goals for RM that killed us in the CL.

He's just a player version of George Graham - and we know all about him don't we... won us a trophy but was still never accepted

Not his fault he always played well against us.

Don't know why he did that but he is hardly Arsenal through and through like George Graham is he.
