I hate most things that modern footballers do, tbh.
Diving, waving imaginary cards, gobbing off at the officials, etc, etc.
If I was a ref I think every match would end up about six a side.

Both teams would have to forfeit. Not enough players left on the field <laugh>

With everyone talking about their unsung motm, I'm surprised both gerrard and Lucas slipped under the radar. Lucas played like the Lucas we love, hope this is going to be the constant we get from him. Gerrard was massive in his work rate too. Enrique played well too. He beat Nani, who had the start on him, and then turned him rather easily. Was iMpressed with most all. Sturridge got another goal, held the ball up well. Aspas, if nothing else, drew defenders away from sturridge. Not the best game though, and I would've liked for him to get a card for a tackle more than complaining and waving an imaginary card. Sterling wasn't as flashy, but he didn't need to be. Solid but not spectacular game for me. On topic, Skrtle the Trtle was fantastic for me. Won the ball in the air, a couple of challenges that went well but had me nervous, but also the distribution was great. Hope he can carry on with this kind of game.
It's an odd thing that we skip mentioning these two but that's probably just testament to how consistent they are when playing regularly.

How stupid do the people who were slagging Gerrard off last season feel now?

I was one of them (at the very start) and I don't feel stupid at all. My judgement wasn't on the performances purely from the first few games but also the last season or two before that. He wasn't performing and deserved to be dropped. However, he vastly picked up his game last year after being reinvented in a deeper role and seems to have taken another step up this year.

I'll happily stand up and be counted for this accusation because I stand 100% behind what I said, he wasn't good enough and needed to improve. I am happy to say he has done.

I know mate but sometimes it's hard for people to adjust to the fact that.....superman can't be superman anymore. As one who wholeheartedly supported him however.......I reserve the right to appear smug. Loved him telling Van Pee where to go today as well

I was always behind him as well. He wasn't the player he had been, but as you say, he couldn't keep that up for ever.
I think he only looked poor in comparison with the performances we'd become used to.

He certainly gave RVP a gobful today. I think half time came too early, I could see Van Pussy getting sent off in the next few minutes without that cooling off period.

Credit to Skrtel - to not have a pre-season, hardly any game time for quite a while, coming back from an injury and forced into a match against Man Utd AND still deliver.

However, I still cannot see him staying at LFC for much longer and one performance does not make him a world beater. As others have pointed out, he's not as bad as some make out but we need a consistent performer.

In addition - credit to Gerrard and Lucas from a defensive POV. I still maintain that this is one our worst CM partnerships in recent times but they have been solid defensively. The reason I still criticise is because of our inability to control the midfield for long periods - we saw this in the second half against Villa and Utd. We need a deep lying playmaker who can dictate the tempo.

Lucas was MOTM for me <ok>

Martin Skrtel gave everything and deserves to wear Liverpool shirt. He also silenced some people, I told you that, if he is rubbish Rafa would not like to take to Napoli.<ok>

Didn't silence me as I never claimed was rubbish. However, he is not good enough IMO, there is a difference. Hell, even Soto had some quality games for us!
