I'm backing Skrtel to get man of the match against United and following that, all the Tutle haters will crawl back out their shells and claim how they always liked him.
<whistle>

Outstanding game from the whole team, but particularly to Skrtel who's barely played in months. Stepped in and put in a top performance as part of a solid defensive unit which really shows the lads desire to play for the shirt. Aside from the defending, there was (as usual) nothing wrong with his passing or playing in 'Rodgers' style' .

Top bloke, top performance. I really hope we don't sell him as he's great competition for the CB spot to at least keep Toure on his toes. Sakho coming in to keep Agger looking forward. Would be a formidable 4 options to have, but I fear his days are numbered now...

Still ****, get rid <whistle>

Not seen the game yet so don't know how well he played. There's no denying he isn't a good defender, it's just the silly mistakes he makes and the fact he isn't as good on the ball as Rodgers wants are defenders to be.

#redeemed

Skrtel the redeemer. Though he was outstanding today tbh. Sakho and Ilori are coming in I think to provide competition for those spots at the back because we are very light there. Rodgers wants competition across the field/throughout the squad with at least two players per position, so the established names and regular starters know that if they don't perform to their best there's someone else ready to step in. The whole squad pushing each other to the highest levels possible.

Played very well but wasn't MOTM for me.

Agreed, thought Coutinho was the prime contender for that. Was very pissed off with some of the Utd challenges on him. ****ing Giggs, dirty old man, could have/should have been off for that ridiculous challenge on him.

Either Skrtel or Hendo for me - couldn't pick - but I would single Martin out mostly for stepping in without playing a game and still putting in a top performance like he'd never been dropped.

Hendo had a great game, true. One of those players who does a lot but you don't really notice it most of the time.

Haha, funnily enough I thought Coutinho had probably one of his worse games in a Liverpool shirt excepting one or two moments in the first 20mins. He never really got into the game for me.

Fair enoughs. He didn't really set anything up but he was on the ball a lot, had good energy and was determined. But I think the reason he didn't create too much was because of the scum's heavy handling of him. Seemed like every five minutes he was rolling around on the grass again clutching something, with good reason. <laugh>

Henderson was fantastic, as was Studge (my MOTM) who ran his socks off, got the winner and held the ball up superbly in the last twenty.

I like Skrtel, used to have his name in my previous username. I just wonder who will be first choice CBs now Sahko is due to join.

Totally. Not criticising the kid, he's been brilliant but today he was poor. First half he gave the ball away far too much.

When you think about it though it's a good thing. He didn't play great and we still beat the manks <laugh> boooooom

Who actually got motm?

Thought Skrtel was superb and very composed when on the ball - true pro

I think Toure will get these niggles throughout the season and we all know what Agger's injury record is like so even though we have strengthened, it will be well worth keeping hold of Skrtel
