There was a place called something like World Market and they had them frozen(obviously) and there was an Irish pub that we went to early morning to watch games, the manager imported proper sausages, bacon, steak pies and sausage rolls etc.
Why? What's so wrong about showing a little respect for your opponents, whoever they are? As for the Barcelona game, he had to say something to cover the poor performance of his team.
My mistake I had Ramsay, Clough etc in my mind at the time but that should be Shankly. Justify what? Plenty more what? Petty point scoring. I just see it as bitter venting from rivals. First it's "oh he's a bad loser" (good, that's the kind of manager I want), now it's "oh he's a hypocrit" bcos he defends his own players or enjoys his little mind games. Stop taking offence at everything. Everything he did was in the best interest of the club he managed and rightly so.
Close enough, 3 a.m. I was going to do some work that I didn't get done cos I got sucked into mafia game, but I appear to have ended up talking about sausage rolls and Japanese tourists instead. What are you doing up at 2 a.m.?
Rumbled. Nah, I've been out needed to answer an email before I turned in, so thought I'd look in to see whether any sensible debate had broken out on here. I needn't have worried. Off to bed now. 'Night.
I've never doubted his credentials as a manager(would be daft to do so)but his frailties as a person are evident. Him telling his adoring press in 2005 he was sending the AC Milan manager a bottle of his best wine to celebrate their victory against us certainly endeared him to us.
Not at all plazzy boy, Fergie got bitch slapped by Paisley's LFC while he was at Aberdeen and got payback when he eventually survived getting the sack at Utd, it took 26 years of his life to do it though. "ruined their lives", nah, I've saw us win every trophy pre- fergie and since fergie went to utd from the early 70's up to our last one v's Cardiff, been absolutely great, especially the 5 big European ones, they're the ones Fergie tried so hard to get more of than Paisley, he couldn't hack it though and remains very bitter because of it.
Mate I think Nozzer was being funny. If you look at Trebs comment he mentions this Ramsey [whoever he is] 'not getting away with it in the modern era'. Edit: do we have confirmation yet of who Ramsay is?
Nope, whilst during the renaissance years at LFC we've won silverware, enough to keep the likes of myself satisfied, that's where you're making another of your sweeping statement's, like calling us all racists because of Suarez etc, some of course might not be satisfied but to each his own. Of course it hasn't been nice seeing the many successes at OT since Fergie got it right, but I've still managed to work and get out and about with family and friends, go on holidays, drive, do the gardening, cook a nice meal etc. If football is the only thing in your life I feel sorry for you.
The extraordinary thing about what Soft Arse is saying is that, by reverse, if you're a 50 year-old United fan, half your life was 'ruined' until Fergie came along. FFS, I know they don't have that much to do in Manchester but spark their clogs and shear the wool off each others' backs, but 'ruined'?
