It's a valid tactic and very effective, but I can't say I enjoy this arial stuff from Sexton's boot. I think England will be relatively happy with that at half time, very close.
England's battering ram tactics are not coming off so far. They normally just roll over teams with pure muscle alone but they've not got the momentum yet. Very finely balanced
The Irish playing it very tactically, probably disappointed they haven't been further ahead. England probably happy they're still in it. It'll be interesting to see how the game changes in the second half as the replacements are used, if England are within a try score with 20 minutes to go their strong bench may be decisive...
England can count themselves lucky to be only 6 points behind. A combination of good defence and poor Irish decision making has kept it to that. If the Irish score first, second half, it'll be all over for England.
He wasn't given much choice. Well done though!... What are England trying to do with the breakdown? They look like they're not contesting most of the time.
Though he did well under pressure there, Goode is just not in the same class as Brown - slow in deciding, telegraphing moves. Irish have turned it up a notch, England still lack accuracy. I'm guessing you didn't get a ticket Nuts, hard lines.
