The weather forecast for Dublin has improved greatly from earlier in the week, only the strong westerly wind to contend with now, the horizontal rain is passing through Saturday night....... Both sets of forwards are very strong and may well cancel each other out, Sexton is the key man and his game management will be crucial to get Ireland on the front foot and keep England playing from a retreating base. If England get going they will be hard to stop as the Welsh found out in the 2nd half of the game in Cardiff........ Either way it is likely to be a brutal encounter.......
Scots bottle it! Italy deserved the win on second half pressure. Now France - Wales, good warm up for tomorrow.
Excellent win for Italy, Scots facing the Wooden Spoon. Wales now asserting themselves against the French, 17-6 and looking good for a win...
As always France look so much better when they move the ball, I have no idea why they don't do it all the time. Good Welsh defence though. Good result for England, French interest over, Wales will be very interested v Ireland.
So are we in with a shout again? I think we have something tasty against the Irish at Cardiff, glad the French got their strategy wrong, one day they will get it right, and then look out anyone........................
Well of course, we wouldn't have it any other way, and neither would you if the roll was reversed!.....
I can see 3 teams finishing on 8 points this year, Irish beat us tomorrow, you beat ireland in Cardiff, we all win the other games. Then Wales miss out on points.
It's a win/win or lose/lose for me mate, I have a Welsh wife (born in Brum via Ystradgynlais and Treherbert) and two kids who are rabidly Welsh when it comes to rugby. So I love it when we beat you but then have to put up with days of sulking.
I personally think the Irish will beat both England and Wales but if Wales could edge it over the Irish it'll be a very interesting last day as it could well be that England go into the final match of the last round knowing exactly how many points they will need to beat France by to win the title. Wales play first in Italy and Ireland play second in Scotland. It's certainly competitive...
Tricky logistics today. Watching the first half of the rugby at home then a quick dash to Champers to watch the second half followed by Spurs thrashing Chelsea. Then another dash to get back for dinner at 6.30. Come on England.
