Listening to the radio today there were some very overconfident Welshmen, bordering on arrogance. Nice to stuff them in their beloved Millennium Stadium!
Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home............................. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home.
Good to see so many of the '2nd string' doing so well last night, that really augers well for the up-coming World Cup. One or two 'stars' in the making...
The great thing about the Six Nations is that you can take nothing for granted, and while fans may get cocky, I don't think coaches ever do - and when players get overconfident they tend to get found out, such is the instensity of the games. All the bollocks before the game - fireworks, the tunnel crap etc was totally unnecessary (good for England for not letting the Welsh **** them up though). The only time I enjoy that kind of stuff is when the opposition try to 'disrespect' the All Black haka, a totally fake 'tradition' that was disrespected by the pathetic way the All Blacks used to do it before they packed their team with South Sea islanders and started getting precious about it - purely as way to get some mind games going. The French team are especially good at disrupting it and the crowd at Twickenham just sing Sweet Chariot triple loud during it.
Getting ready for a stress free few hours on the sofa. England and Ireland wins, but the Ireland match could be good if the French turn up.
If England get an early try they could put up a good score. The Italians can be a tough nut to crack when they're on their game but I think they've gone back a bit since last year. If the French turn up they should hammer Ireland off the pitch.
every time you sandbag Ireland, the current champions with the best coach in the northern hemisphere, playing at home. You'll be calling it a 'bonus game' next......come on Socrates, get real, you are favourites for this one. Wel, the Italians are certainly making the English work...
The Italians are always quite competitive these days. England have at least improved now, but they are failing to convert the chances they are creating. Poor choice from May there.
Italians wasting their penalties, if England get a quick start to the 2nd half I think the Italians could concede 50+...
I'm sure Lancaster will have that in mind and let the players know that. The Italians are often in a game up to the hour mark and then fold in the final 20...
