Not many benny, on current form that is, but putting a run of good performances together would be Saintsy.
Losing to Brentford, beating Liverpool next Tuesday, then getting absolutely mauled by Leicester would be peak Saints.
My post modified I think you meant the following Tuesday week. Wouldn't want to be thought of as being pedantic
Well, my predicted draws with Palace Brentford and Leicester are now down to a possible one point. Honestly, l cannot see that happening with the way we are playing under Ralph. Liverpool should have been my last home game as a ST holder, but l am starting a job in London next week and l am glad l will not be back in time to attend. I am genuinely fearful of the outcome.
For once I’d like to see if Ralph can set up just to get a point against Liverpool. It’s not a style of play I’m keen on, hard to watch. 1 fast striker up top ie AA. If we manage 1 point out of the remaining 2 I’ll be reasonably happy (from where we stand now).
Therein lies the problem; "...Ralph can set up ..." l am not sure he can, especially after being present to all the recent home games against Newcastle, Watford and Palace, to name but a few. He does not seem to know his best formation for a given set of tactics and who to slot into it.
We can’t play like city every week and it feels like that’s what he’s trying to do. Surely he must be capable of slowing down and frustrating an opponent? Top teams have to ‘grind out’ a 1-0 win, our equivalent would be frustrating, slowing and grinding out a 0-0. Boring to watch but what would we give to turn that 0-4 at Villa into a 0-0? I was shot down on another thread but we need a realistic (as well as ambitious) manager capable of adopting allardyce/pulls/dyche tactics on occasions.
I agree with all you have written; when you know you have injuries, or players off form, you need to setup to get a result and play accordingly. We have seemingly the same game plan every week and Ralph never seems to have alternative strategies. Neither can he seem to make in-game adjustments.
Luckily for us, Leeds are turd. They looked really bad today. And Ayling is a total idiot. That challenge was ridiculous
