The Premier League loves us, the PGMOL love us, especially Mike Dean, and there is no longer a Mechanism. Points for results is history, we will have 19 points because.
I sort of agree, but the fact that we'll be 9th on merit if we win against Burnley just goes to show you that ALL of the league, unless you throw absolute buckets of cash at it (or you're essentially run by a super agent, hi Wolves), are incredibly inconsistent (essentially because without buckets of cash, that's what you're going to be). And we're no different, we just occasionally like to throw an eye-catching/eye-watering result into the mix for the lolz. It also shows me that Ralph is doing a very fine job, despite the eye catchers.
In fact if we win tonight, we'll go top/second (depending on how you see West Ham) in the "not buckets of cash/superagent" league.
No, but respect should be given for doing so. If you want trophies, support the clubs with the capacity to spend wads of cash.
Not exactly a trophy, but the pundits, who occasionally notice teams outside the top six or seven, will doubtless give us a metaphorical pat on our heads, and say "Well done, Saints, you deserve to be allowed to stay in our league, but don't get ideas above your station"
Then add the manager, coaching staff and finally the tea lady whose brew and buns propelled the team to the pinical.
Fans sometimes moan about the club's lack of ambition but it's easy to forget that we have spent the last decade in the PL (=8th longest with West Ham) and that is a pretty good achievement which a lot of other club's fans wouldn't have minded and only a few outside the top 6 have qualified for Europe in that time. I would like to see us always prioritise the cups though even if we are fighting relegation.
I predicted 5, but with Brentford (A), Liverpool (H), and Leicester (A) left to go……it’s highly likely to be just 1 point.
Well, l have a chance of getting 2 of my 3 predicted points tally. I thought Palace was my 1 point banker...
