This is a very good point. We need quality players to walk into the first team, it's not even as if we have tons of youngsters that look like they are going to be anything more than squad players. Januzaj needs to continue his good form next season but I'd put him in the no 11 position, although it must be said he doesn't have much competition at the moment. I think Jones will grab one of those jerseys once Moyes settles on his actual position (hopefully CB), and then the other CB position can be rotated between Evans and Smalling although I think if Evans can recapture his form from a few seasons ago he coud make the one CB position his own as well. I don't know which position Mata will end up playing but he'll make our 1st 11 no matter what formation we are playing. The rest of the team is up for grabs...
I think the same can be said about all inside the club. We all know why though, yet the club are allowing this to continue. Its like having gangrene and just waiting to see if it heals itself.
Letting Moyes do anything with this club is going to end in disaster. Why the **** would we get rid of the majority of our players because 1 man says they are not good enough? Mindboggling. Rafael is a fantastic player, a fantastic right back and up until the shockingly **** Moyes took charge, no United fan would have said differently. This should tell you all you need to know. When a manager loses the dressing room, players performance levels drop. This isnt because they are not good enough or because they no longer care. No matter who you are, where you work or how much you earn, if your boss is **** at his job, the entire workplace suffers. All that is going to happen is we will sell players who are more than good enough, replace them with players who we have to pay silly wages and once these players realise just how bad Moyes is, we'll be discussing how we can sell them and replace them again.... We got Moyes so we didnt become City/Chelsea...... yet were becoming exactly that. Sell tyhe entire team, buy a new one, sell the new team, buy a newer one.... We need a couple of top bracket players. 3 or 4 at most.
The bold bit: Because he's the manager, perhaps. I'm not saying Moyes has performed well but you have to back the manager or get rid of him, you don't hire a manager then ask the fans' opinions on transfers. As for the rest, many many fans have been saying that our squad needs revamping for a long time. We have done well due to a brilliant manager who gets an extra 10% from his players (and 20% from referees), and star players in form pulling the rest of the team along with them. We have not had a world class midfield since the Scholes/Keane pairing, that was ages ago. Our wingers have been declining for a few seasons now, as has our central defense with Vidic/Ferdinand getting older. Very few fans thought that we had the best squad last year, not by a long shot. We had the best manager and best strikers.
Its the manager who is not good enough. He is the problem. To solve the problem you get rid of the cause.
Yeah Januazzi could well get in there but I don't think he's made a position his own yet. The same for Jones, Mata, Rafael. We have players capable of making a position their own but these players need to step up now.
I know you list was based in those have made the position their own but following on from the same theme, this is how I'd have the team with the current squad; 1 - De Gea 2 - Rafael 3 - ????? 4- Jones 5 - ?????? 6 - Fellaini 7 - ?????? 8 - ?????? 9 - Rooney 10 - Mata 11 - Januzaj So, that's four positions up for grabs, all of whom need to be new purchases in my opinion. This is the crucial four we need to sign. The rest of the current squad are exactly that, battling it out as squad players.
I would have liked to have included just about the same people. I just want them to step up now and prove that their good enough to be a regular starter at United. Make it so it's hard for them to be dropped rather than them getting the shirt but default due to other squad players being ****.
Mine was based on the idea, and it'll probably happen, of RVP going. I actually think it'll be beneficial, allowing Mata to play freely. Rooney would be happy enough at centre forward. I'd like a fourth striker but whoever is brought in would no doubt expect to play automatically such is the mentality these days. CM - Kroos CH - Bender? Or Mangala? This might sound daft but I heard today that Carles Puyol is going to leave Barca for one last venture, how about him? As a back up of course but seeing as both Vidic and Rio are leaving. Great player, although admittedly his best years are way behind him. LB - Shaw Wide Mid - Lallana. Powell could also compete to be in there at eight maybe. They, my friend, would do nicely.
I think RvP and kagawa both have a future here as does Nani. Under the right manager anyway. All 3 would fit into the system we should be using with ease. Kagawa and nani as back up attacking mids/wide attackers would be very good back ups. these players should be starting far more games than Young and valencia tbh. They offer so much more. I think Nani still has more assists than valencia and Young combined going back a few years and Nani has played about 20 games in the same time Valencia has played 60. Kagawa klast season created the most chances ( not assists, the chances were not converted ). RvP scores goals, lots of them, consistently. Hes been off form this year....... while having a better goal ratio..... go figure.
RvP Kagawa Mata Nani or Rooney Kagawa Mata Nani Stuff like that. Loads of option, loads of quality attacking players. Loads of possibilities.... all wasted by the guy in charge.
On paper you've a great attack What do you think you'll have to spend this summer? Do you believe the reported £ 100 mill + player sales?
I personally do not think Moyes is a crap manager and i do think he will come good. I think his biggest problem for you guys is the style he plays. I am not wumming but at the moment the one thing that can be said about brendan is that he has accepted that he needed to alter his style to fit the players he had, we are reaping rewards from that at the moment. I think you guys differ in so far as you have a manager who is not looking at the players you have. A major overhaul is not needed but a clear focus of how you guys want to play is, next game excepted as i figure you will be awesome and rip us apart - best you play all season! I remember being amazed at how quick you guys were at ripping into a team from a defensive position, that threat really seems to have gone. Couple that with a bit of bad luck and confidence in the opposition they can get something from you is culminating in the season you are having.
