I know this will come as a novel concept to the cerebrally challenged, but the information about Sir Chris was "new", and thus possibly worthy of comment. How hilarious and ironic that you of all posters, the Eminence Grise of Powell Raa Raa merchants, should crop up on this thread It was only 5 months ago that you, Ted, West Stand Willy etc were ramming it down our throats just how "lucky" we were to have him, and how he would quickly go on on to greater glories. #hasn'thappenedhasit
Really? Please explain to me, what cards and what rules? West Stand Willy was my 606 name and wasn't available on not606. I have used HRH ever since I joined here. I don't change my name week by week neither do I use multiple accounts ( I saw Reams bollocking you ).
And houndal is badly missed on this site, he was a useful antidote to the leather jacket & white socks/still living with my 94 yr old Mum brigade.
Lets have a level playing field. Dish it out and be willing to take it back. You are a net curtain twitching coward.
Who the bleedin' hell is this Nick fellow? And does it really matter if Vol starts a Powell thread? If you don't like it, don't read it - that's my motto. In a bizarre twist of fate (if true), CP has been sounded out for the Blackpool job, as Riga is looking for a quick getaway.
Does anyone on here remember Ducker? He is a good pal of mine and introduced me to 606. Anyway, while investigating some ancient ruins in Lebanon, he fell about 200 feet down a cliff-face and broke his ankle, collarbone and four fingers. After an eight-hour wait (his phone was smashed during the descent), he was finally discovered and taken to a local hospital for treatment. He should be back in Blighty by Thursday.
This sounds like quite an exclusive Brigade. Yep, I miss Houndal, and was sorry when he stopped posting. I hope you wouldn't stop posting of Sir Chris took over at Southend and got them into the Championship?
I liked Chris Powell as a player and I liked him as a manager too. He was treated shoddily in my opinion. Lest we forget, he took over from Phil Parkinson, whose record wasn't exactly a shining light in the SE7 darkness. Chris Powell took us to the League One title with a three figure points total and ended his first season in the Championship with a late run of wins that, had there been a few more games to play, might have ended in a play off place. Last season wasn't so good, but a run to the sixth round of the FA Cup wasn't a bad thing and I'm sure that with the games in hand we would still have probably finished the season pretty much where we did had CP stayed. We are now in a period of horrible instability and uncertainty. Good players are leaving the Valley quicker than super villains sitting next to James Bond in an Aston Martin. Chris Powell may not have bounced straight into a "top club" but wherever he ends up I'm sure he'll do a good job and who knows he may even bring his team to the Valley one day. I for one will give him a warm welcome. He's been good for this club both on the pitch and off it. In my opinion, he deserves our thanks and respect.
Awful news - please send my condolences. Definitely one of the best posters from over the years. His desire to reach as many games as possible and to write reports on the next day are sorely missed. Yeovil on a Tuesday was something he thrived on!
And what is wrong with caring for ones elderly mother, would you prefer we leave them to be looked after by the state or are you worse than that. Once again do you go out of your way to offend, or does it come naturally to you?
Hmm.. If i were the former i would be insulted, if i were the latter should i not be flattered. I'm neither, just amazed that you know how to use a thesaurus.
It is, isn't it. We're a very diverse bunch of people who aren't afraid to express our opinions be they for one view or another. We call this "honesty" a concept that we're aware is quite alien to the denizens of Dog **** City, aka, The New Den (smells of piss, just like the old one). We will, indeed, keep that red, red robin bob, bob, bobbin' along. You, for your part, can keep your tatty old moggy scratching and clawing at everything it comes into contact with. It must have been a looooooooooong close season without having any old ladies to beat up, or pub windows to throw bricks through. Never mind, football will be back soon and you and your fellow hooligans can look forward to another nine months of free rides in police vans and legal aid funded court appearances. Enjoy. Thanks for posting, Troll.
I wonder why Lovely Geezer keeps on coming in here to troll Charlton Athletic. It shows a rather sad level of immaturity. If he had something interesting or relevant to say I would welcome him. I rather like to read alternative viewpoints from intelligent posters. I enjoy having my views and opinions challenged by articulate discussion. Sadly, he isn't and doesn't. I therefore respond to him in the manner which he deserves and will understand.... with contempt and scorn. I don't take any particular pleasure from that, but I feel it is the level at which he and his ilk are best served.
Ah, the Red ,Red, Robin! Stirs the blood, that song, doesn't it? Don't worry, TC, he'll be bobbin' along just fine for longer than you or me. By the way, have you looked at the table recently?
