I also feel the same for you cos obviously you don't get it... if it was directed at your nationality on a website that you have common ground with everyone else... then you wouldn't like it either. I've been called much worse many times but usually from people I was about to deck or vice versa but I don't expect it in here.
Let's not get carried away here, he is Scottish and on some occasions his nose looks very red, theres nothing wrong with that now.
qpr1976, if you were to put English in front of an insult to any particular manager, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. My comment on Ferguson wasn't intended as a slur, just stating the facts. In general I find English people just couldn't give a monkeys about Scotland, it's just where it is. But on the other hand, the level of Racism directed in the other direction is overwhelming at times. But I don't care less because it means nothing, oh and I have a pair.
If it's directed at my nationality, religion, family, football team or anything I really don't care. It's a football messageboard full of anonymous people who I'll never meet. If you were on a bus and two blokes were reading a newspaper article about Ferguson, one of them referred to him as a 'scotch twat' or something equally pointless, would it really make you that irate or would you simply pity the ignorance of the other person?
It's the nature of football supporters to bad-mouth opposition players/managers etc, how many of us thought Warnock and Barton were tossers before they came to Loftus Road? The gratuitous 'Scottish' insults are equally 'tribal' in their nature. Some fans can't help it. As I said in my comments, he has earned his plaudits despite some good fortune along the way...
