BREAKING: Sir Alex Ferguson is in a serious condition in hospital and will have surgery later tonight.

Brain haemorrhage, ie a bleed rather than a clot stroke, same as what my Dad died from. At the same age.

Good luck Sir Alex.

bloody hell I just heard about the brain hemorrhage. I wonder if that is connected to a stroke?
thoughts and prayers with him. I always respected Fergie. Top bloke.

There are many types of bleeds some more recoverable than others. I had bleeding between the brain and skull some years ago after a motor bike accident but thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Barts I managed to pull through relatively unscathed, apart from memory problems.

I saw this as breaking news just before I went out this evening. I hope he can recover from this. Sir Alex Ferguson always seemed like one of those footballing legends that would continue forever. I watched the Man U v Arsenal game last Sunday and Fergie presented Wenger with a boxed trophy before kick off to commemorate his time at Arsenal. Which I thought was a nice touch, despite their rivalry down the years.

That’s what my dad had and eventually died from. Devastating news, let’s hope it’s a minor bleed and he’s ok.

999s, my post was duplicated in respected the the last couple of words in it!

Sorry durbar, I didn't realise what you were getting at. I thought it was a mistake. Unfortunately I can't reinstate the post.

For anyone wondering what's going on, durbar duplicated his post ( #8 ) word for word.
