You don't want football to be entertaining? Movement, clever interplay, attacking, attempts on goal? You're entertained by endless sideways passes that lead to nothing other than eventually surrendering possession about thirty yards from goal? No goals (which ultimately is the "goal" of playing football!). Fair enough.

By the way, the last line of your post is why to a man, both United and non United posters, you're considered a bell end. You've convinced yourself that you're a "better" fan than the majority, the reality is you're a different football fan to the billions who have watched the game. You're in a very small minority of non match going fans who refuse to see or say anything negative about their club.

Well my pervious post stated I wasn't just happy with shots. Which implies there's more to football than shots and chances. Good play isn't exclusive to the attacking third either.

A game of players taking random pot shots would be horrific.

Get yourself over to OT. You'll find 75,000+ ignorant, worse fans than you who want to see some entertainment. You could lecture them on why they're all wrong. In fact you could do a lecture tour of the pubs prior to the game!

Been a number of times. <ok>

I'm also not as ignorant as you to lump 75000 people together. Nor would I consider them all experts. A match ticket and a pint doesn't make someone an expert in football. Which you seen to think is the case.

Football fans are idiots though. There's a who load of evidence out there showing this. Tends to happen when large groups get together in a tribalistic nature. Kind of spoils it for others.

You've never been to OT fella. That's incredibly obvious. I don't doubt that you're a member though.

Ah right. Because you know, obviously. Just as you know and speak for everyone of the 75000 who go, despite there being thousands of different faces each time....

    I'm thinking no, Stan.

Then again I've always suspected you were part of the hooligan lot in your hey day. You've got that arrogance about you that. I've no idea of its true but in the spirit of assuming, I will go with it.

Hooligans before my time kiddo! My era is in between the Hooligans and the Streamers!

It's a shame Italian football on C4 was before your time, you would have ****ing loved it!

Italian football was. I saw AC Milan win a title with 34 goals. They knew how to defend but at that point the world wasn't convinced the only real football was attack attack attack. So it probably went down as a good thing and not some sort of failure.

So in between the hooligans and the streamers. Sky generation then <laugh>

I will be honest, I thought you were in your 40s.

I am in my 40s hence I pre date Sky!

Winning a title with 34 goals? Not for me. Not for most. Especially if you're paying to watch it.

Yeh, early 90s when Italian football was arguably top dog and AC Milan were the top dogs in Italy. Don't think it worked out at a goal a game either. Still, credit for the defence I guess as they won the title that year.

Anyway, way off topic. The Guardian are reporting van Gaals in the job for as long as he likes.... 3 years then seeing as he's retiring. Not that they would know but I think its possible the club has briefed the media with some more positive news, at least from the clubs POV.

How many times did they show the interview while you were waiting for the cup draw?

  13. Don't know, I wasn't really watching it, it was just on in the background.

Oh right, it's just that you said they keep showing the interview. Perhaps you were exaggerating.

LVG is doing a great job. It's the points he gave us in August that's keeping us out of the relegation zone :)

  17. Are you incapable of realising the tv is repeating if not giving it 100% attention then?

Last time I give you the heads up I guess <ok>

Those who are giving LVG stick are going over the top. Sure he is having draws which is not ideal. He's had some poor games : PSV was terrible. The last match against west ham was also poor at 0-0 but not through lack of chances. The match was better than the score suggests. West Ham have beaten all the top teams of last season. And as the matches this season suggest, nothing can be taken for granted. The Stoke, Newcastle, Palace and WBA of this world are no longer pushovers.

For all the unhappiness of the fans consider this:

Since the arrival of Kloppyflop to the RS:

Kloppyflop played 7 league matches: 3 wins 2 draws 2 defeats
LVG played 7 league matches: 3 wins 4 draws 0 defeats

And the German is being lauded as being the messiah with their deluded fans producing threads on their title challenge this season.

The RS fan on this thread might want to chew on this <ok>

I watched via a stream, the commentary was the same as Sky played later that night. At one point one of them said "there are no score draws and good no score draws, this is a good one to watch".
