Sounds like red bull are very confident their penalty will be way less than 10seconds time penalty.

I'd be shocked it's even 5 seconds but we will see.

7th for the potty mouth as well

Leclerc is going to end his career with more poles than Hamilton and fewer wins than Coulthard

I was really pleased to see Danny Ricc bring home a great result- what a rough few weeks that man has had.

Meanwhile- you have to wonder where Alpine Renault go from here. They have had years to develop their engine, yet here we are in an engine freeze with them looking pretty average and very unreliable.

    Comprehensively outdeveloped by Honda.

Engine freeze still allows upgrades on the basis of reliability. That's why I think Ferrari will come up trumps before 2026

There will be 104 points left after Japan, so any result that maintains the gap to Charles wins Verstappen the title. Checo needs a two point swing in his favour to stay in it. Everyone else is now out.

There I was thinking you were being nice till I got to your second sentence. If they have gone over, they won't disqualify them or change the 2021 result, that would bring the sport into more disrepute than they want. They are on a mission to grow the business, such hard action would be a home goal.

    5 second pen for perez

Looks like he got a reprimand for first safety car then as he broke it again the second time he got a penalty. Seems fair

oops realise I forgot we still have a sprint event to come, so add 8 to that. That does mean that a win + fastest lap would be enough for Max, whatever anyone else does.

Its one of those races where the highlights make it look good. But the live race was a long 2 hour slog

so a few mistakes this week?

    - The long turnaround to get the penalty and final result after the race.
    - The green flag after VSC when marshalls were still on the road. That was live not a replay
    - The long waits it takes for a decision on VSC or SC
    - The inconsistency of the Orange and Red Flag, Hamilton had more damage than Magnusson. I also note he pulled out dangerously in front of cars
    - No Investigation with the funny business between Norris and Verstappen?
    - No penalty for Russell hitting Schumacher
    - The fine for Hamilton wearing a Piercing... To the team. I dont think thats going to stop him.

I enjoyed the up and down once the thing got started but did feel those who were aggressive were punished for it. the track conditions nailed hamilton and verstappen for trying to pass and both lost out.

they rewarded sainz for trundling round.

I'd agree there was a long time to decide when to drop a SC or VSC. In theory the second a car hits a barrier round this place or has ZERO place to go after engine issues (we saw 2 cases where cars had got close to recovery point but there was no chance to actually recover them.)

I agree russel drove into schumacher. He clearly messed up there and got away with it cos ehy bother.

I don't agree on norris and verstappen. we saw the same up ahead so I wonder if generally was the rules changed here or what. this was under vsc so both drivers i saw hussling their opponent both ended up losing out. I just found it clever by norris so someone else might know exactly what was permissible at that point?

the fine to hamilton #racism........ lets call a spade a spade........... Its getting stupid now. theres not one other driver on the gird getting singled out. now.... not one other driver has piercings but i defy antone to show me how that nose spot will stop anyone cutting hamilton out of a crashed car.

Green flag. The commentators confused me. I thought it was green as they were pulling at the thing. Ridiculous. Send a boy to do a mans job imo. The two never kicked the ****ing thing like a proper old school man would. One kick and the thing was out of there. I can only assume the guy with the itchy finger saw them grab it and looked away cos well....

Anyway.... F1 needs to look at this again as a race concept as they've now learned two days running that this track won't dry and its another death trap. Eventually run this way long enough and a few cars will pile into a corner together. Even under a safety car they can still aquaplane off into the same corners. We cannot keep "not starting2 races hoping the weather will blow over either.

They got away with it this weekend. It stopped and they fudged the race start to avoid the 3 hour clock starting. If it kept raining what were the going to do here?
