I can think of probably dozens of times we've said that about players. How many players have we had who've spat their dummies when someone has come in and done better?

My son is 14 and plays for a local side (Deerness) he got started on the bench for a couple of games early last season so I told him he needed to prove to the manager that he can't bench him - he went on to score 49 goals last season and has 14 in 6 this! Sadly players don;t have that mindset seemingly in modern day football

Before player power took over the game, Clubs could sell an under-performing player with next-to-nothing minimal consultation.
This kept the players on their toes.
Now, so long as they have a contract to guarantee their earnings, are they really that bothered if they get benched?
