It is very easy to criticise after the event, I admit. However, I would have kept a spine of the team in place and added players to the starting 11. Specifically I would have kept Turner and a centre back who may need to be paired with him in order to develop the pairing. Also either Tettey or Johnson. to play one half each for the same reason and at the front either Jerome or Grabban plus Hooper. I probably would have Redmond on the bench as he would have been a great sub to bring on against Shrews. In other words, 6-7 changes ok, but not 11.
Very sensible but I guess Adams got a bit cocky and Shrews were probably lifted by the team we put out, they were better than us and deserved to progress.

I can see where you are coming from but as I implied earlier the players you would have to leave out came here hoping to get regular games and would start to get discontented if they could not even start in the League Cup against Shrewsbury. Personally I still feel the starting 11 was more than adequate but it could be argued that the bench could have been a bit stronger in case things did not go to plan but against that he wanted to give the kids a bit of matchday experience.
