For me I cannot understand why players do not settle, as they are only away from where they would ideally like to live for a relatively short period of their lives. I have spent times working away in areas I did not like, but you just get on and do it, and with the money they earn, they can always fly home whenever they have an opportunity. Having said that, maybe the fact that he is now married and it is his better half who is not happy, then better sell him and use the money to get someone else.
I think we should sell him and use the money to buy AP a Lamborghini and a crystal tiger carving, just as Paul Duffen did. Then see if TWF reacts the same way about AP being a **** as he does about Duffen...
Millwall seem to be keen.... Millwall wait to discuss move for Hull striker Ben Kosky Thursday, November 24, 2011 Millwall boss Kenny Jackett plans to hold talks with Hull next month in a bid to sign striker Jay Simpson on a permanent basis. Simpson has netted four times in his last six games for the Lions and Jackett is keen to keep the former Arsenal forward at the Den after his loan deal runs out in January. However, the recent managerial changes at Hull â with Nigel Pearson returning to Leicester and Nick Barmby replacing him as caretaker boss â means that the subject is likely to remain on the back burner for another few weeks. âI donât know what Hullâs opinion of Jay is now, whether theyâll be open to that now,â said Jackett. âIâm sure itâs something weâll talk about in December. âWeâll have to see what their situation is at the end of that month. Theyâll have a new manager, injuries and suspensions will come into it, and so will their assessment of their squad for the second half of the season. âSo weâll definitely be having that conversation with Hull, but we havenât had any indication from them at the moment.â The Lions manager, who brought in Aston Villa defensive pair Nathan Baker and Shane Lowry ahead of todayâs loan transfer deadline, admitted he also considered bringing in a goalkeeper. First choice keeper David Forde could be out until Christmas after going off with a thigh problem in last weekâs 2-1 defeat to Bristol City, but Jackett has decided to continue with just teenager Ryan Allsop as back-up to Steve Mildenhall during the coming weeks. âI was tempted, but weâve already got Ryan and we couldnât find anyone with more experience than him,â added Jackett. âIf someone does turn up of a more experienced nature, thatâs something we might look at. âIt was a blow losing David, but Iâm confident in Steve Mildenhall â he came here to play and heâs never let us down when he has played. I think heâs a capable goalkeeper and I see this as a good opportunity for him.â Winger Chris Hackett has joined League One side Exeter City on loan, while defender Ton Craig has been offered a temporary switch to Leyton Orient. http://www.london24.com/sport/champ...it_to_discuss_move_for_hull_striker_1_1136129
That would be best for all. He has now played 52 games for Millwall (including his previous loan to them while at Ars) and was voted League 1 player of the Year with Millwall. Not prolific in his 1st spell with them (41 games 7 goals). But this 2nd loan much better (11 games 4 goals). When at QPR on Loan he played 39 times and scored 12 goals, a good return. Bit of a pattern there in settling down and being in London. He is better off down there having found his football home so to speak. Don't know how much we paid for him, just hope we could get our money back maybe.
^ What he said. Bendy legs is happy down the big smoke. He doesn't want to come back. No reason to drag him back - we will only do that in an emergency (injuries / can't sign anyone). He is plan C right now. He may be recalled as a bargaining ploy if Miw Waaawl think they can offer peanuts for him.
£50k initial fee, although I think we've paid another £200k in add-ons. We were looking at £600k at the start of the season so based on form we might get £750k-£850k. Although if he's suddenly as good as Fryatt when he plays in London maybe we should demand £1.2m
£1million from Leicester for Pearson and £600 000 from Millwall for Simpson should be enough for one new striker, but I think if we're going to have a good push for the play-offs we really need two. I also hope that as we know what we need now, talks with Millwall and relevant target players / clubs are already on-going. That's how the likes of Man City do business, so when the transfer window opens it's just a case of signing the deal(s) off rather than getting involved in prolonged Dutch auctions.
I'm sure I've seen somewhere that Simpson went on loan with a view to a permanent move, and that a figure of £600k had been agreed??
We apparently asked for £600k, but they were offering about half that, or he would have gone on a permanent in the first place. I suspect they'll be happy to get nearer our valuation now and I would expect this to be the first deal we do in the window.
