I am surprised no one has put up a post on this yet. Link from club's website: -

I never knew Simon although he appeared to know me having said "Hello" to me on a couple of occasions as I strolled around the ground. Perhaps he always said that to anyone who looked a bit dodgy to put them off their guard. Moi????
However, despite me not knowing him I certainly knew of him having seen him at home and away games both in and out of uniform in recent years. He always struck me (not physically of course) as an old fashioned sort of copper who could recognise a supporter who might just be a bit frustrated at matters on or off the pitch and just needed a quiet word to "Calm down" from a yob or idiot whose collar needed feeling or even stronger treatment at the hands of the law.
He did some great work at CCS after leaving the force and, on the back of this, was able to use his skills at the Olympics Games to good effect.
He is a big loss to the club and even bigger one to his family to whom I am sure we all send our sincere condolences. His passing was recorded at the Wales game last Friday and I hope the club do the same before leeds on Saturday.
RIP Simon.
