Young Harry (who destroyed us at the Den the previous season) may have been better if played as a striker instead as a winger. If we do bring in another striker I really hope he would play as a striker, and not as a midfield makeshift.
Harry Kane was crap pure and simple Lacked effort, abilty, commitment and passion The only thing you can defend him with is the fact he is only 19 He will never cut it at Spurs
Yeah, I have mixed feelings on Kane. He didn't just play as a wide man, he often came on for Wood around the 60 min mark, but only occasionally made much impact. He does seem to have an imperturbable air about him but, like Proud, I have to question his work ethic. There's a lot of potential there, but he's far from the finished article and not what we needed this season. Or next for that matter.
I've got to confess I didn't see a lot of him but he seemed alright when I saw him, you have to compare him with some of the terrible loan signings we've made before. He's strong and quick (relatively), the rest will come with age. He'll be a good player in a few years in my opinion, but he wasn't the right man for such a critical part of our season- not experienced enough.
It's far to early to write Harry Kane off - he certainly improved us coming off the bench in the first leg of the play-off - Chris Wood had been fairly inept up to that point and when Kane came on we started to retain the ball when it was played up to him. You have to put his time with us in context - coming on from the bench in a team very low in confidence and on a dire run of form - it's a lot to expect a 19 year old to turn all that around with 15 or 30 minutes run out here and there.
The guy wasn't given a fair chance. Pearson brought him in as a striker and played him completely out of position. What about the players on our payroll who appeared not to give a ****?
