I don't think we brought anyone in other than a goalkeeping coach, everyone else was just moved from other parts of the club. When Phelan went, Pennock, McDonald, Mimms and Ternent all went with him. Edit - I forgot we brought in McDonald as his No.2, still that's only two new appointments.

Yeah I know this is all true. But after the arsenal game if we play burnley, leicester and swansea and come away with 0 points, for whatever reason, the smiles will start to fade. It's just a fact of football - people have short memories. For now though it's VIVA MARCO!!!
Without the benefit of the internet you show us how 2 or possibly 3 of the summer signings were Phelans choices. If you post questionable things online expect them to be questioned.

Ehab was never going to take on a new coaching team in the Summer, as at the time he thought he was about to sell the club. The fact that he screwed up the sale is a matter of complaint - but not recruiting Silva back then seems reasonable to me.
That's true, but that's no more than Phelan did in his first few games. Yet people were still very quick to turn on him because he couldn't see how obvious it was that we needed to play the 5-1-4 libero system they'd used so effectively on Football Manager.
Think Phelan had a favourable record over his first 7 games. Marco will be turned upon quite quickly if things go tits up over the next month.
