There is an interesting advert in the top left hand corner from the Standard Range and Foundry Co. Deferred payments on their goods. This was the start of hire purchase, followed by credit cards.
I was 3 then... but have played alongside Bobby Bell for a few games in local football long after he retired, and had Dave Underwood as my Sunday League team manager. A pleasure to have met them both. While I grew up with players such as Barry Endean as my first hero (one great season) and had the pleasure of the SEJ/GT first period, I have remained a season ticket holder since. I still get the same pleasure, the first Zola season remains one of the best I have ever seen, and having had players such as Abdi in his first season and the squad we have now, have not felt any less attached or sentimental. It is still my club, and the Pozzo's are better owners than Bonser, Petchey, Simpson, Russo's, Basini... I don't feel any more detached now the then. Yes the game has changed, and in some ways for the worse, but some for the better. Jut like all walks of life
I thought I had posted this yesterday morning but it would appear that the WiFi dropped out. My tuppence worth, anyway... I think the whole fiasco surrounding silva stinks. Neverton and silva are both to blame. Hopefully the EPL will agree with our position and throw into the mix the intransigence of the actions of the toffees. I don't care if silva does go to them now but they have to cough up. It's the principle of upsetting their rivals : this cannot be allowed. As to the Pozzo's I think they need to reappraise their contract strategy perhaps?. We've been guilty of the same lapses thrice running. More than careless.
No smoke without fire eh..... There is a research principle.. If something happens one it can be just a one off.. But if it happens twice.. Worth further examination.. And how many times has it happened to us?? Will not inspire confidence in any prospective head coach... Sent from my G3121 using Tapatalk
Any financial settlement forthcoming from any deal with Everton should be given to charity, after all we don't want to be dealing with tainted money.
Wikipedia have him down as already being at Chelsea. If he came to the Vic. we would have to have a separate smoking room for him.
According to the Wobbly, Silva likely to get the Everton job this week after compensation agreed. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/16255191.Everton_set_to_appoint_Silva_this_week/?ref=mr&lp=1
Sarri would be no better than Matzarri was and would never come here anyway. Chelsea are welcome to him.
Silva confirmed as Toffee's boss. We all loved him at the start but it went wrong quickly. He is still unproven but might do well for Everton. Still no $$ agreed, but will that happen?
If Pochettino goes to Real.... maybe Silva chose Everton too fast. After all , there are bigger clubs and then bigger clubs
