I don't think we are getting far with this. It is all total speculation at present about Silva, so until we know more I could lock the thread and reopen it when there is some actual news. We all have our own views about the issue, but to claim any knowledge is not correct. There is a more interesting sub-discussion going on about how clubs are run, the influence of TV and money within the game, but that would do better as a separate thread. So maybe we can just leave this for now which will save me looking for the lock button.

His merits are up there amongst the highest - worth every penny in compensation, and more. As a matter of fact we also have a guy called Holebas who is worth every penny of 70 million+ - you can have him too.

It was meant rather tongue in cheek Frenchie, almost a way of bringing a bit of humour back into things.
It made me laugh, unlike some of the other comments. Enough is enough I think - we'll all see how it unfolds in the next few days or weeks. Or years in the case of Pozzo-style ownership and Silva's lastability as a manager.
I do not care whether we get compensation or not for Silva I just hope now that they appoint him and he does the same as he did at Hull and Watford, a couple of good results to begin with to provide delusions of adequacy then the inevitable decline ending in relegation enabling Everton to achieve their desire to be a top six club, in the Championship They will have lots of ex premiership teams to banter with down there
