Where's your logic? If we all know Siggy is going then we have to believe Micky Tomas. If we don't believe him then Siggy must be staying. Or did I misunderstand your comment?
As ive previously said it is going to boil down to whether he wants to play or not. If he does he will come to us, if he wants to be on the bench for the majority of next season he will go to Liverpool
If he's likely to be on the bench all season at Liverpool then there's a possibility that Liverpool may buy him and loan him to us. Brendan has already mentioned loaning a young player to us is a possibility. So could work out for us, at least for another season.
My point is, that Micky Thomas is jumping on the bandwagon. This has been over the press since Saturday, I listened to Phil Thompson, John Aldridge to name two go oj about Siggy going to Liverpool, then we now get Micky Thomas go on about that same thing. Just being recycled time and again. I believe Siggy won't come to us, as I think Brendan for all his blarney has all ready had a chat with him about going their. If I'm wrong and Siggy come to us then I'll be one happy Jack, we shall wait and see.
Could be a good possibility of this but I would rather buy him now and sell him in 12 months time because at least we would make a bit of profit on him if he has a good season and we wouldnt be taking up what could be a very valuable season long loan spot as we only get 2 if they are from a premier league team
I don't think anything has changed. Siggy is on holiday, and he's stalling because we havn't unveiled a new manager yet. Once that is sorted, I do believe he will sign. Liverpool may pay him more, but we already know that Siggy is not happy keeping the bench warm, and he knows that that is exactly what he will do at Liverpool because there is no way they would drop Gerrard. Time will tell, but if he signs for Pool, were better off as it's all about money. If he signs for us, he wants to play regular football, which he knows he will get. He'll sign!
Its about playing football with Siggy, the money isnt an issue as he comes from a wealthy family from what I understand If we sign a 1/2 decent manager I think he will sign for us
Flip side of this is we spend £7m and he breaks his leg in the first game....at least if he's on loan then we can just send him back That being said Brendan rates him highly and I would say he'd be a starter for Liverpool anyway. They just got rid of Kuyt after all.
Didn't see Kuyt as competition for Siggy. Kuyt, more explosive, played wide and Siggy, more subtle, plays through the middle.
aye there is always that flip side However good Siggy is do you think that a new manager, trying to get the fans onside (particularly the ones who wanted a 'bigger' name), will drop Gerrard for him as that is the position he plays? personally I don't. Cant see Siggy playing wide if Brendan tries to adopt the same system he did with us either
Well this transfer is dead in the water, siggy is being quoted in Icelandic press that a move to Swansea is very unlikely. Link to vital below http://www.swansea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=284075
If we get him he's likely to replace Adam I suppose. Midfield of him, Gerrard and Lucas anchoring if it's a 4-3-3. Or him at point and Gerrard and Lucas behind. Who knows. I certainly wouldn't want him playing wide.
Well this just confirms it really http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Huw-Jenkins-dark-Gylfi/story-16321722-detail/story.html
