Completely agree with you Dai. Brendan has handled everything very well, including making sure we had a great compensation deal. He also discussed a successor with Huw, so I'm sure he has the best interests of Swansea at heart. But now Liverpool his main priority obviously.
Apparently he discussed it with Huw when the Tottenham job was mentioned. Huw trusts his judgement so asked for his opionion. Obviously nothing to do with Brendan now.
I'd rather a manager gave an honest answer. He's given you a small insight into what the conversation was like between himself and your chairman regarding a transfer. I think you'd rather know than not know. I'd rather have someone like Rodgers, who said honestly what was happening and how he felt, that the normal football interview rubbish, in which they all pretend they don't know anything in a vain attempt to be 'respectful'.

Come on let's be realistic here, if you were a football player and had a choice between Swansea and Liverpool who would you choose ? He has a choice now and Brendan has made sure the whole damn football world knows it, integrity he spoke a lot of it in our time with us, he doesn't seem to display it now he's with you. I hope siggy signs for us still as he's guaranteed first team football, but being realistic its looking very unlikely now, but I am not being nasty to the kid he is 22 and the world is at his feet, Brendan is 39 and his integrity is shot with us, I hope he does well with you but I have a feeling he will crash and burn and take what you pay him as he is now set for life.
Rodgers & Sig would have a few years of non contested roles at Swansea , they'll have months with Liverpool , with Sig not guarrenteed starts whatsoever . Could really turn out to be a dumb & dumber affair for both of them .
Agree cracker, rogers will be gone as quick as he appeared there if he doesnt deliver quickly at pool, therefore hes gonna be as ruthless as he needs to be to stay on top of things there. The non poaching agreement wont mean **** if he taps up our other players that he wants saying if they want to move thier fair game too ! Wont be suprised if he goes after Caulker too . And have you noticed hes giving almost exactly the same blarney crap there as he used here loves the cameras/media attention to doesnt he !
I'm a natural pessimist but I hope he succeeds. I think he was being genuine. I understand the argument against that but that's my view. You can always have Charlie Adam for £7.5M... Sir Alex said his corners are worth £10M alone so that's a fair price!
You have to do that as a manager, especially at a club with worldwide support, fans eat up the sycophantic 'best fans ever' ****. It's just modern PR. Caulker? Doubt it, we have 3 better centre-back choices right now and Spurs would not lend us a hand. I think, conversely, that the 'no Swansea players for a year' thing is good for LFC - it gives them all a second year at PL level in which to prove they have genuine quality. At any rate, the only players I'd consider would be Sinclair, Allen and Britton.
Charlie Adams, no thanks mate he hasn't set the world on fire with you. By the way I don't think most swans fans have anything against your club, you have a great club and history, it's just people are a bit pissed off with the way Brendan has handled himself, it's all a bit cynical! Put it this way if he was offered a job at Barca in a couple of years, and was saying these kind of things in the press about Liverpool, what would you think if he was saying to a potential signing for you guys that if things don't work out we will sign you wink wink ? We may be a small club, but we are not stupid, we know when we are being pissed on by the guy, no matter how well spoken and sincere he sounds.
All this siggy stuff is beginning to annoy me now, Rodgers plays the PR game extremely well when he was our manager and therefore it may work against us now he's moved on .Siggy is worth no more than what we offered Hoffenheim and if liverpool want to break the bank to get him so be it (look at the recent signings they've made , not exactly set the world apart have they , and it will be interesting where they fit in his plans. Henderson any one ?) I am more concerned with not getting Chaulker back ,or someone as good as. Kemy has signed which is a good deal for us and I for one would say that he was missed last season .The way that Rodgers is becoming to come across is being to grate a bit ,condescending is the extreme .
Rodgers thinks Vorm is the best keeper in EPL, so is bound to bid for him in 12 months time. That's assuming he's still managing Liverpool.
opinions , Reina is still the best ,Vorm doesn't command his area ,great shop stopper but can't say that he's better than Reina ,but then again I don't have the merger bucks it'll take to prise him from here
Whereas I do think that Rodgers is past master at Blarney (do they have a special college or something for that in Carnlough?) I also think he's handled this pretty well. As Dai has said, Siggy isn't stupid and would know that Rodgers would love to have him at Liverpool. We all knew it so why wouldn't he? As I said earlier, Siggy owes us nothing. Nothing at all. If he hasn't signed then he's fair game for Liverpool. Not nice, but we move on.
And were going to believe Micky Thomas, he told me his £20 notes were genuine. We all know Siggy will go to Liverpool so lets move on, and if by magic he does sign for us the whoopee do!!!
