It is indeed peanuts. Around 3.5 billion peanuts I reckon. And to be honest, 3.5 billion peanuts would probably have done more for your team than Henderson, Downing and Big Time
Swarbs we all know Fergie has made a massive amount of transfer blunders, but lets not get into this for the 100th time. Maybe it's the sign of a great manager?
The sign of a great manager is one who actually has some transfer successes in and amongst the blunders Actually that's a bit unfair. Doni hasn't really played enough to be classed as a blunder yet...
It's hard to argue that Nemanja Vidic wasn't worth one extra point in the time he's been out. Just having him back could be the difference needed to topple City next season. Or even having Cleverly and Anderson back - who started the season on fire before they picked up injuries. What do City have that we lack? A player like Ya Ya Toure whose power and drive reminds me of Essien a few years back. He drives the ball forward in a way that Michael Carrick just doesn't, even if he has been much improved this season. It's not certain that Darren Fletcher can come back as the same player either. I'd like to see us sign a holding midfielder but only a few days ago, Fergie said he won't be singing a player like that. I wouldn't mind seeing Cabaye (Newcastle) or Sigurdsson (Swansea) come in. One or two others have been linked like Gaitan, Hazard and Kagawa and they all seem decent. I'd love us to sign Schweinsteiger but the best Germans rarely leave and head for England. We'll probably pick up a forward if Berbatov leaves.
Isn't that what Kenny was tasked with last season, and his big three signings were Carroll, Downing and Henderson? I do not think any manager could make such terrible signings again, even if they tried... But what the heck, let's have a go: What would be the closest to identifying the new 'Big 3' flop signings based on the last season? Chamakh 30mil, Malouda 25mil and Rodwell 45mil? Still doesn't come close to Kenny's grand signings though...
