Thomas Vermaelen. Ideal in the 3-5-2.

Everyone United signed - Joint best transfers of season at bargain low prices
Everyone anyone else signed - Terrible and overpriced. Even the free transfers.

However, if I'm going to be less rational than the above.

Best signing has to be Costa. Difference between City winning and Chelsea winning the title potentially.
Falcao is a pretty good signing too- probably be the difference between no Europe and Europa league.
Balotelli is a big gamble- won't know for a long time- it's either a disastrous signing or an inspired one- depends on how he holds on to his attitude.

Saw Fabreglas mentioned above... he could be crucial too, another good signing if he stays fit.

BTW- how can you laugh at Lallana's price when you paid double the going rate for Maria, and triple the going rate for Shaw? All three players were hideously overpriced, but Lallana perhaps closer to his true value than the other two.

All a bit pointless to be blunt. Not one has kicked a ball for his new club, and anything could happen. Any of the signings could pick up a serious injury, not make a realistic effort or get suspended. My god, someone might even bite another player!

This is all a bit of "my dads car is bigger than your dads" If the question was who was the best player signed it LAST years window, that would make sense. Predicting who is going to be the best this year is pure guesswork.

Fabregas so far. Would have been perfect in a midfield three alongside Herrera and Blind for United

He played in a midfield 3 for Real last season. They won the CL. He was the best player in the final. Playing in a midfield 3. You're welcome.

Hes now considered at cm player. And as last season showed, hes one of the best around.

Thats the role he will play for us imo. Its his best role.

Maximum wage of 180k paid by the club.

Didnt you fail to keep suarez even at 200k. Also who was paying for this 200k a week? Not your poor lot.

He was subbed in both losses to Barca, and games v Atletico, ranging from half-time to 85 mins. Good player, but one half-decent season in wide central midfield does not make him a £60m cure for your midfield issues. £30m on Pogba, Fabregas or Vidal would have reaped more rewards alongside a £30m Di Maria
