Wind up or genuine? Granted we need a back-up keeper but was hoping for something a little more exciting than a keeper who failed while on trial with Birmingham

It has been confirmed on Brann’s offical homepage that they have accepted an offer from Leeds. The only thing remaining is a medical and agreeing personal terms. It also says that he is training with the club (Brann) this afternoon and will travel to Leeds after the training. So he probably is on the airplane to Leeds as we speak. In Norway we call him Rudy instead of Rodolph<ok>
Regarding the yellow cards he has gotten when playing in Norway, you have to remember that it is easier to get a yellow or a red card over here than I England. I think he will fit in very well in the Championship :)

I fail to understand why he was made to train with the team before flying over to discuss terms. Strange one that just glad he never got crocked.

Yes that is a bit strange, but I guess he wanted to have a last training and say goodbye to the boys before he left.

@dewsyleeds: Andy Gray and Jamie Ashdown agreed deals

You were right TC

Two signings that fail to impress me in the slightest - Is this T/O still ****ing going through :(

34 year old ****ing striker probably signed on the basis he can score two against a bunch of part timers and a Keeper who has managed so little game time it is frightening and you have to question was it worth selling Lonners for £200K to replace him with another possible Rachbuka.

Day after day I wait for decent news on an exciting signing or a T/O if I were Snoddy and this shows ambition I would piss off now...

Eight players required, that's two ticked off I bet teams in this division are ****ting their pants........... With laughter

??? WTF are you on about Simon??

Rachbuka was back up, Lonners was first choice.
Kenny will be first choice and Ashdown back up.

Why waste a wage on a back-up player of this calibre? My point is with/if a T/O is around the corner was it really worth cashing in £200k for Lonergan or would it have been better having two decent keepers rather than a Rachbuka situation again.... Keep Cairns on the bench as an emergency and dip into the loan market if we need a keeper or get a youngster in who shows promise.

This is TWO disappointing signings as far as I am concerned, if this was Grayson making these all hell would be let loose.

Exactly, you then stated Ashdown was Lonners' replacement.

As for Gray, Colin stated we need to sing squad players as well and that's clearly where he fits in, and I certainly see him as the kind of player who could get us a few important goals on rainy mid-week nights.

We won't be making any "marquee" signings until the takeover does go through, so I'd expect the back-up to arrive first.

Ahh sorry you read it wrong/I never explained right.

Was it worth getting £200k for Lonergan - Would it have not been better keeping him rather than selling him 'cheap' and having two keepers of decent quality rather than risk a Rachbuka situation.

Worries me greatly that NW wants 8 that is 2 down, Austin, Crainie, Norris, Varney and possibly two others, swap plus cash Mackail Smith for McCormack leaves one place. Granted Austin looks exciting but I am hardly inspired by the signings considering a takeover is around the corner and we need a promotion chasing side not one to play around mid table which this is looking like.

Brown, Varney, Ashdown, Pearce, Norris - Half the bloody Portsmouth team :(

Again nothing exciting BUT I will give him the benefit of the doubt until we have seen him in action. Between him and Kenny who was the worst kept secret.

Agreed but he's another who I'll be surprised if he hasn't been described as a squad option. Bare in mind we have a lot of players to replace, not just the starting 11. Think of it as Gray for Paynter, Ashdown for Rachubka and Varney for Webber.
