Valley i dont think you are in a minority at all! but the players always look at who gets what at the club they are going to join, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs around so its not unreasonable to expect them to pay more than the swans.. as obscene as the money is it does tell you how a player is valued to the club, siggs would be lower to middle in terms of wages offered at liverpool and maybe he felt he was worth more, Spurs tended to agree him. <ok>

Something is wrong in football if the swans are matching Liverpool in wages!! seems to me Liverpool wanted him on the cheap and/or wanted to use the managers personal influence as a deal maker, gylfi didnt buy any of that and took his market value for a goalscoring attacking midfielder at age 22yrs old.

Spurs paid the going rate for that type of player, we would have fluked his signing by him being comfortable here already, Liverpool wanted a rolls royce but only wanted to pay the price of a ford focus <ok>

Sig will be lucky to get 15 starts IMO . He won't like being in the middle of an ego infested dressing room either after experiencing the Swans . He will like his paydays though
