what i'm a little worried about now is the keenness of interest poch took in our youth teams. i don't know how the EPPP worked with player compensation, but I hope he's not going to try and dig out our foundations.
Players are only human..they (like the fans) are unsettled, then they get over it and move on. There will not be a big exodus, because most won't want to and some won't be allowed to. If they had any self awareness, they would admit that Southampton made them the players they are...without us, most would be seen as okay but not great players (otherwise we wouldn't have been able to sign them). To leave, they have to find better jobs...easier said than done.
On the back of the season most of the first team have just had I think that they could find what they perceived as better jobs relatively easily. Whether they will be allowed to go is another matter.
He didn't really say anything bad, I feel the media have blown his quotes out of proportion. The player is just disappointed to see the manager go.

Yeah, but I'm willing to bet it's in response to the article in the first post where he definitely was misquoted, rather than his Capital FM Kenya article where it's hard to misquote what he said.
It'd be interesting to know which bit of which article he's saying was misquoted. It'd be hard to get that second one that wrong, but I sincerely hope they did. He's probably just covering his arse for comments which might be construed as attacking the board though.
It's possible he's referring to the PL as "the biggest tournament in the world" and saying that he's glad to have had a taste of the champions league. Whatever the true quotes were, I'm willing to take his word for it if he says he doesn't mean what has been written.
I think we just have to wait for the new manager now. Until then, we'll have to ride it out. Some people think ambition is dead and others think it may still be there. There's no way to know until the manager arrives and gives a statement. Players can say what they want, but if the new man excites them, they'll shut up.
Well whatever it is precisely he's referring to, clearly the point is that he doesn't want to seem like he's unsettled. If he was looking for a move, he wouldn't have bothered to issue that denial.
Or he's just been told off by the board (pretty likely regardless) and they demanded he refute what he said.
