It's the start of the 2016-17 season and we welcome MK Dons to the Greenhous Meadow. Mk Dons will bring a strong footballing side that will be eager to start their return to the championship as early as possible. Shrewsbury have a much changed side, a glut of midfielders and goalkeepers yet are lacking in attack and slightly in defense. Town are likely to play a 4231 formation. Hopefully we give them a good game and start our season and in a good note and the new players win the fans support. Floreat Salopia
A battling game, which due to a mistake, a timely backpass and a power shot Town ended up losing. Did we play badly? First ten to twenty minutes maybe, but after that we improved. Second half was a tamer affair in some ways. Leutwiler made a couple of cockups but thankfully was rescued by others quick thinking. Luetwiler did however have very little to do throughout the game. I was impressed with El Abd and Dodds Leitch Smith both looked promising. What are your thoughts on the game?
Very early days to draw many conclusions though there were encouraging signs we are trying to play a passing game going forward. The biggest concern was the losing of so many headers from set pieces - it is going to be a long hard season if we cannot sort that out. Apparently Ivan Toney due to sign on loan today -he was certainly rated highly at Northampton and would be a similar sort of player to Kaikai.
