i thought sharps and cansdell- sherriff were the kingpins of our defence. they have both been injured and have returned, why are they jaded
one played and one was on the bench, the only thing i can say in the players defence is southend are a muscular team, unbeaten in 4 games and beat rotherham 4-0 away. yes we conceded 2 corners, i was conceded by grandison and the second goal was a gk error. let us see how they keep barnet out on saturday. floreat salopia, a slightly jaded aj! friday night is hopefully railway inn night, prior to a goalfest day
Very good win tonight for Barnett away against Gillingham. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15071257.stm Although I'd much rather the extra 4 days rest
Accy Tranmere game abanoned due to serious injury, Tom Bender caught between Dunbavin and a striker http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Accrington-Stanley-defender-Tom-Bender-in-stable-condition-following-horrific-injury-in-Johnstone-s-Paint-Trophy-match-against-Tranmere-article808159.html Hope he is okay asap
All I'll predict is a crowd around the 5,000 mark, possibly dipping under - Barnet won't bring many and our home support is a bit lower this season (like almost everyone else's). We need a good win to spark things up again. With the cup run behind us and the big disappointment at Southend it's gone a bit quiet. And we've got two tough away games next, at Crawley and Rotherham, so we need more points now. Strange how the fixtures fall. I've seen us 10 times in 2 months so far but, unless we get a home FA Cup draw, I'll only see 4 more games in the next 3 months! I'm away when we play Accrington, should be back for Wimbledon, but then we've only got one home game in each of November and December! The away trips are all pretty distant too - Northampton looks closest (apart from Cheltenham - but that's too far to go on Boxing Day). Then it's 3 or 4 home games a month for the rest of the season! Seems strange to me.
Macclesfield away is always a good trip. I'll try and to to Crewe this season too if possible, may e get the train and stop at Wrenbury for the bhurtpore arms.
Don't forget AJ is up this weekend. I'm meeting him in the Railway inn, Yorton tonight at 7.15 tonight for an ale or two (I'll have a red tshirt on). He said he would be in the 3 Fishes and Nags at lunch tomorrow. So if you want to meet a cross between Mervyn King and Ronnie Corbett then pop along.
Mixed feelings at half time, town are two nil up with a great nutmeg by Richards on the diving keeper and Gornell tapping in a ball. Town have made it hard work and Barnet have had some open chances but have fluffed them.
Big performance needed for Crawley away next week. 3 points= big time. We're 4th on goals scored. COYS
