match abandoned after 64 mins because of safety concerns. there were 6800 attendance, was there unrest amongst the crowd. this fixture appears doomed.
I'm just a little gutted about this as we were playing some very good football tonight. There was only one team going to win tonight, although admittedly we would have been more comfortable with another goal. But it was coming.. Now, we'll have to face a stronger Port Vale side towards the end of season, making that match absolutely crucial. We could have faltered tonight but with enough games to make up. We won't have that comfort when the game's rearranged. Last years divining moment was that goal that wasn't, this season could well have been tonight. Having said all that, IF Town take that form into the next few games then that's a big positive. But that's an IF..
Floodlight tower in north corner on east stand had a couple of lights blow, then 5 mins later all of the east stand floodlights went out. Supposedly Ian Bebbington and a sparky went to go and check on why the first floodlight had blown only to open the door on the generator room to find a fire too big to put out, so they had to shut the door again and call for the emergency service and evacuate the stand. Gutting as town were having a really good game. Wildig fitted in well and the whole team was playing a really nice flowing game of football, even Sharps was passing on the ground rather than hoofing it! We would definitely have come out with all three points from that game. Jenny can I remind you not to run on the pitch like you did last night
sorry we are dumped in 4th place with a game in hand. gills challenge appears knacke.d after yesterdays loss, crawleys win at bradford puts them above us, and shots proved they are very dangerous after dumping gas. and who do shrews play on saturday an emerging dangerous shots, floodlights permitting. what a great crowd last night. do hope we play vale soon as we do not want them around our necks in late april. oh march we have just found your sting. do hope 31.3.12 is sting free
Five players were sent off after a post-match brawl following Crawley's win at Bradford http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17441660 Could upset some future results. Bradford's Andrew Davies, Luke Oliver and Jon McLaughlin were red carded, as were Crawley's Pablo Mills and substitute Claude Davis. Crawley had six yellows before that too. Might mean some further punishment by the FA
A fair old scrap up at VP, weren't it. Shame Fatboy Evans didn't take one on the chin. Not that I'm condoning violence, but he does deserve one nonetheless. As for the run on the pitch, I was trying to instigate a game of British Bulldogs but no one was interested.
both bradford and crawley should be deducted 5 points each, i am sure shrews and plymouth will not object!
Now where was I when I mentioned that Vile were a bogey team. There are certain teams like Vile and Wycombe where the fates conspire against us.
Jenny, There is no need to worry - we are a stronger team in all respects this season and we will be in the top three at the end of the season. Five wins should do it and we will get them if we continue to play as we did last night. I have been following the Town for over fifty years and we are really starting to look like a promotion team at the right time. Rocky, Nice to see you back with a funny one-liner. Do you reckon you will be staying up - I hope so because we have been laying low our bogey teams this season so we will look forward to taking six points off you next year.
afraid not greenhous we are doomed and we will pass each other like ships in the night, but i wish you lot good luck in your promotion bid
