last ten of the first and the second half were great to watch for shrews fans. Oxford seemed to have had run out of steam in the second half, many a team comes here and tries to play pressing football in the first half of the pitch - which does often work out for them, yet they flag in the second half.

Taylor didn't have a great game, but was that down to having to help out Regan defend? It would be nice to see Wroe and Sawyers start a game, the ball seems to be well controlled by Sawyers and he did some nice passing. I don't feel McAllister is adding much different to anything Wroe can offer. It is also frustrating watching Shrewsbury midfielders and forwards passing the ball sideways rather than having a stab at goal. I know both goals were scored by midfielders yesterday, but how many 'non-aeriel' supplied shots did our forwards have? Did Collins or Morgan try and turn on their defenders to shoot?

Well done to the team for the efforts in the last 55 mins of the game, shame the lino in the SW corner couldn't have been better experienced. Bring on Burton!

I thought McAllister played well last night (2nd half, no-one played well 1st half), as he did at Crewe. Broke up the play well and drove forward to good effect. Wroe was excellent when he came on but then he was fresh against a tiring team and was able to find space easily - McAllister had done a lot of the hard work to enable Wroe to play. That said, Wroe is the better passer. And Richards, though not at his best last night, reconfirmed his current undroppableness with that howitzer.

Sawyers showed again that he's a class above most L2 players but physically it's tough for him. I'd like to see him play 90 minutes but, subject to whether Morgan picked up an injury, I guess that would have to be in Taylor's place, which might not suit him.

Over to you for Saturday, Mr Turner!

The door of Venus flew open and a zombie-like, drooling 15 year old youth stood skulking in its rusty frame: "Dun dun der.. his head is.." were the only discernible words, and his far eastern roomate merely shrugged and continued to play computer games.

Seriously, shame on he who left early. Although it was unbelivable scenes at the end. Richards' shot nestling in the net, Oxford fans well and truly gobsmacked. He may have had a poor game but what a clever subsitution by GT- Richards added thrust at LB, McLaughlin over to RB replacing the lethargic Regan, and Wroe for more drive in midfield. For all Richards' accolades (just pop over to B&A where they won't hear a word against him) I still think Wroe is our most dynamic midfielder, with wide open defences like Oxford's he's good at driving through the middle, look at his strike against Crewe at home here end of August.Wasn't really possible by the time he came on as Oxford were 2 goals to the good and prepared to sit on their egg of our shredded unbeaten record. I don't think we were that bad first half, just undone by a bit of napping and two excellent finishes. Sawyers is classy but i'd rather see Gornell, plus we've already tried him in the hole against Torquay and it didn't work. Headaches for Sat, which now is a must-win; I don't think people would have batted an eyelid at getting 6 points over the last 2 games. Last moan, we do have problems if neither centreback can get back from a corner. Sharpsy and Grando aren't the quickest but surely then both shouldn't be going up! Deary me.. :lipsrsealed:

Aye, that's what we pay GT for, to iron out these minor creases. But what a corker from the baldy!
