I would take you up on that but already got my ticket! <wah>

Anyway, aside from the horrible rugby result, seeing Arsenal win, Liverpool almost cock their big game up and, critically, my Sunday League team winning this morning, it's been a good weekend from my point of view sport-wise - surely a good omen?!

Shocking first half of football & we're fortunate to have the goal t'boot (2 miss-kicks led up to it)!

Crawley are winning most 50/50's, we're hardly getting a look in.

Anyway, here's to a better second half!

We never cope with teams that apply a lot of pressure.

Same is true of every League 2 team, which is why every League 2 team tends to press their opponents! We weren't able to control the pace at all but Crawley were never going to be able to keep that level of pressing up for the whole game. Wright's goal was crucial in preventing them building a lead. That said, they still played pretty well when their pace dropped!

Similar to last week, redjed, the better team lost again! Crawley were the hardest opponents we've had at the Meadow since Bury were the last team to beat us here a year ago, so to under-perform and beat them is great. We know how you felt last week, & Crawley know how we felt - minus the ridiculous refereeing robbery of course!

This race isn't won yet - by anyone, by a long way. Great season though.

Shrewedchemic, got to agree with you , this league is the tightest of all the N Power but im not bragging when i say we will be champs, ive seen most of the teams in this league this season, and i have to admit that the Shrews are going to be there or there abouts as you are a good footballing side. I think the Creepies might have blown their chance now. By the way how was fatty Evans tonight, was he throwing his toys from the pram again.lol.

We were unfortunately not able to see any major tantrums by Evans.

The substitutions made at half time completely changed the squad. Rumour has it that Grandison was late to the ground as he got stuck in a traffic jam on the M6. Classic game of two halfs, first half they applied a lot of pressure and it gave then a goal but thanks to Wright we got back on track. Grandison although playing at CB often helped out the midfield and helped break up their game. Great to see Morgan score and I think Turner has found his team for Saturday.

You have to give credit to Crawley. They closed us down mighty quickly thus inducing plenty of mistakes. Also fair dues to Steve Evans, who must have been gutted to lose, as he stayed on the edge of the pitch after the match and shook hands with all the Shrewsbury players.

I still fail to see how McAllister is better than Wroe. Difficult to pick a MOM as the defence was run ragged and Richards given little time to impose himself. Probably would give it to Neal who coped reasonably well with most that was thrown at him including one tremendous close range block.

I think Wroe deserves a start, I don't know what deal Turner does with loanee players and David McAllister has shown some very good moments but Wroe is currently a better player.
