we have to drop Marvin and loan him out, and change our tactics, we are looking so predictable, we need fresh faces in either jan window signings or some lone players in..we are not scoring enough goals,we had good possession all game but only two chances on goal...not good enough!!
This is not with hindsight, but it was a mistake to play Bradshaw from the start. He took his goal well on Tuesday but for the rest and today, as yet, he offers little. Gornell offered much more when he came on. He holds the ball up better and his movement stretches the defence. Morgan will be suspended for the next game (and needs a rest), so a new partnership will ensue. Hugely disappointing. Better to miss the chance of the record by losing comprehensively than this tepid affair. The ammunition was supplied but the front 2 and Wright(in particular) failed to deliver.
let us hope we can stay in or around the play offs until january when we can hopefully have a clearout of the dross either sold or loaned. one says the problem was supply others say ammunition was supplied. eitherway gt needs a good sort out in midfield and up front. those who cannot perform or are not good enough, get rid. sounds like collins and gornell up front and changes in midfield. i suspect rowlands sparkling lithuanian port went a little flat today. the clocks go back and gt has problems, but we are still up there, but it's getting tight, and so is aj. fs, cots, bots, aab, ctrb
i think now only one automatic promotion place left...creepy and southend have this one sewn up...we needed Marvin to step up to the plate this season, but now we can see why he is loafing around the lower leagues..he just aint good enough..."sparkling lithuanian port"?
lovely stuff tastes like the real thing and always handed around visiting directors. rowland is no mug he drinks his own blend of vintage port courtesy of tanners, who also provide gt and his squad with irn bru. creepy faltered today and i fancy morecambe abone southend and creepy, so may only be the play offs to play for, and we all know what happens to the shrews, so they had better start motoring or better still, change that ruddy awful pop art badge. town will never win anything with that ruddy awful badge. rowland will you be told!
what shrew, i feel a badge campaign coming on. floreat salopia and get rid of that ruddy awful lenny the lion badge. bring back the 3 loggerheads and a floreat salopia! ROWLAND WILL YOU BE TOLD!!
When Gornell came on, balls were being supplied through midfield and the wings which was an improvement on what was there before. Bradshaw did not always play well and looked like a dog chasing shadows some of the time. Perhaps if he had come on earlier things might have been different. Morgan has five yellows now and will suffer a suspension (is that for the FA cup game?) so Collins and Gornell will be the pairing, unless GT has still some punishement left for Collins. It was great to see Sharps back close to what he has been like as a defender, although why he didn't get a red card for hooking their player around the neck when he was already on a yellow only the ref will know. Tinned hats - only a third of the season has been played, a lot can change in the next two thirds. All promotion places are still up for grabs!
I was disappointed to see Collins not feature - he has looked our likeliest in front of goal recently so why are we shooting ourselves in the foot by suspending him for something that happened outside the club for two vital games where we have struggled in front of goal? The logic of this completely escapes me. Collins and Gornell must start the next match - to me Bradshaw is no more than an impact sub at present. I think Wright should also not start - he has had so many chances - let Taylor have a run to see if he can reproduce last years form. We look well short of Crawley and Southend at the moment and teams like Oxford coming through have much bigger squads and have brought in many new faces recently. Our squad numbers have been run down on purpose and we are looking completely threadbare as soon as someone is injured or loses form. If our chairman is serious about getting promotion he must make more funds available to Turner otherwise an era which has shown such promise at times is going to come to a very disappointing end.
only the other week it stated in the Star that we are one of the fastest rising companys in Britain!!....so wheres the the investment Roland?......
the last thing town need is punishments and suspensions. we need goals and a vast improvement in our gd. we are hanging on to the playoffs by our fingertips. sort it gt
fair play to GT, he can only work within the resorces he has been given, and to be fair he has done alright, you cant expect to have players on free transfers and expect great things!,as you say, when you can jack up the crowd to 5800 you would expect a little given back to the team, we just cant sell players like Harrold and get in free transfers and expect too much, Roland has got to start showing a bit of comitment, so i will be looking to the January window for some new faces coming in and some old ones going out!!
Greetings guys(and gals) from sunny Argentina! Neal Jacobson-SCS-Sharps-Grandison AInsworth-Wroe-McAllister-Taylor Gornell-Collins Impact subs- Bradders, Wright, Richards, Is Ainsworth two-footed?
Tinned Hats, I agree wholeheartedly with what you say with my only worry being that January might be too late and we may even be out of the play-off places by then. In the past one and a half decades we have seen many clubs with less resources than us push on into League 1 and beyond while we have been firmly rooted in the basement. Yes, we fans appreciate we have a financially stable club with a nice ground but now is surely the time to invest more on the playing side in a bid to rise to the next level. Turner is known as a manager who does not waste money on players and if the Board cannot fully back our greatest - ever manager then I despair of us ever going up again.
Stop panicking lads, GT will sort out this mess! Manfeelings - What are you doing down in south america? Hope you're having fun and took a town top with you! Are you going to try to go to a match there? Ainsworth can play on either wing so i'd put him in front of / free role around richards, wroe and McAllister
it is probably because the board spends little money on players, we are such a successful business. town have normally got by on home grown, loan or a few bought players. i am sure the time has come to loan extra power up front and perhaps in midfield. sorry but i would rather be a succesful L2 thriving business than a struggling L1 club wondering where the next penny is coming from. rowland and his board are not the only success stories here. let us hear it for graham turner who has produced a great squad with little money and a little tinkering in certain areas may see us back in a promo spot. if he and the squad can keep things ticking over until january. one thing saturday may have shown, is that our defence is improving, our midfield is not supplying and out attack is eiither not receiving supply or is enept or both. it must not be beyond the skills of our squad to take 3 points at 3rd from bottom daggers, floreat salopia
when i went to the match i paid my money and was sitting there thinking mmm this is a lovely ground, easy to park, nice pies, friendly atmosphere, a cash rich club who are in the top flight of new buisness...perfect!!...so whats missing?.......the actual thing that ive come to see!!....its like going to the national gallery in London, paying to get in, sitting down on a nice comfy seat to look at van gogh's Sunflower painting, only to be told, we havent got it in because its to expensive to show!!.....no, the whole idea of having a successful football team is that a big percentage of resources 'ie' takings and investments must go on the players and player wages to make a the whole thing work!....you look at Morecombe who get low gates and are pushing for promotion and Creepy who are millionaire led...what bracket do we fit in?......
55% of turnover is allowed to go towards players wages. Yes I'd agree that sometimes the footy is shoddy and cringeworthy but as one of my mates said years ago - if they were better alround players they'd be in a higher league. I know some of our signings have come from a higher league but it takes more than that to created a settled and effective team. There are a lot of promising things happening and I hope that GT overcomes the issues seen at recent matches.
