Not really convinced that yesterday's performance was much improved on the Aldershot game. The difference was the quality of opposition. Stockport showed why they are near the bottom particularly in attack. Playing Collins in midfield for much of the second half was baffling. There was criticism last week that Collins and Harrold don't make a good partnership but, if the ball is continually hoofed in the air to them, neither do Bradshaw and Collins
Collins in midfield was bizarre. I thought it was 4-3-3 in the first half with collins in the middle? Stockport were always going to come back hard at us after the break and we have Ben Smith to thank
It's almost as if town stopped trying when collins wasput in midfield, but he was tackling well. Personally I would have left Collins on the pitch. Smith had some cracking saves
great 1st half, second half apalling. our attack was dead second half. turner should have brought wrighty and harrold on after 60 mins. too little too late. david davies my man of the match though sharps commanded the defence well, but he was guilty of hoof ball up the pitch to no one in particular. no wonder our dressing room was subdued after the match, there was little to shout about apart from the lingering memories of the 1st 30 mins. as for the music catch us if you can, stockport nearly caught us twice in the second half whilst town went to sleep. much improvement needed and 12 points needed. thanks matster for popping in the railway on sat night. fs coys
i forgot to mention, i thought the ref was excellent and it was difficult to judge the 2 subs as in the short space of time gt gave them, the attack still looked dead and is was as though they had come aboard an already sinking ship. do hope we win at edgar st and at home to ackers. fs coys
