But do you think that the youth in the squad has the ability to step into the shoes of the likes of Drogba, Lampard and Terry?
For me: Lampard I dont want to replace him like for like as its the reason we find ourselves in this hell hole and hes awful, slow and predictable. Carricks better atm, nuff said - Josh for me is more than adequate as shown when he plays imo and Piazon and we have others. Terry Doesnt need replacing yet (as drogs i think said) as long as the other twits do one. But - Cahill does a good job Drogba Irreplacable with any striker. Best get it done with now, we bought Lakuku so play him or get Torres playing/replaced - Difficult one but he does HAVE to go along with his EGO! Malouda Shoot him Ashley Cole Bertrand is a better player now imo Bosingwa Ivan (dont need CB cover) Bench Bos sell Paulo.
I have to say I am surprised-but very pleased , about the way this poll has gone. Before it started my guess would have been that a majority would have been calling for his head! But it seems the majoity are in his corner! I am convinced he will come good in a big way and I am beginning learn to live with the blips along the way, as painful as they might be! Patience as they say ia a virtue!
you suffer from ra changing manager's all the time.he need's to give the Manager time and the Club a bit of stability.your team need's rebuilding and that take's time even with his money
Spot on totsfan! I would however say we haven't actually "suffered" with his constant changes, having bagged a fair few trophies along the way! The passing of Ancelotti I regret most!
As a view from the outside, I would say stick with him! He has an ageing squad and inherited a team that needs a spell of transition! He will bring in quality players, but needs to do so on a gradual basis, while also promoting a steady flow of youth. If you keep sacking managers, each manager will have their own philosophy and there will be a never-ending phase of transition. If you can stick with him for a good 2 or 3 years, then I think you will start seeing a new team palying gppd football, and a new spell of success! You may just have to go a couple of seasons without a trophy!
My thought as a whole on this is as follows. And pretty much agreeing with other posts. I believe AVB has a lot of qualities and that i think from pictures and the support he gets from his own players (including Drogs, JT and Frankie) that he does have the support of those directly around him. And any other manager would have been sacked by now so he must have the support of RA... just wish he would go public with it. The squad he has has been inherited from Ranieri.. Its what 9 years stagnant? Look at the list of players he has and how much change he has to make. I i was one of the following. Lampard - Pedestrain and just slow, still a great player though Drogba - World class but now 33!! Terry - Chelsea freaking legend, couple of years but we need to gel in his long term replacement now Bosingwa - Awful, needs to go Cole - The pacey attacking Cole is non existent now, being the wrong side of 30 his tackling does not make up for the loss of his attacking talent Ferreira - Why is he still here? (is he?) Malouda - Easily our worst player, but cant deny he does have talent, just does not use/show it Mikel - Anyone can do his 5 yard passing, he offers nothing defensively compared to Romeu Hilario - Old old old Torres - Just needs to go, had enough of it.... 20 games 0 goals is utter pants. In short all of those players above, 100's of millions of cost to chelsea need removing and replacing thats a whole squad of 11 players and they all know it, the atmosphere that would create must be a massive motivation killer. AVB has a MASSIVE job on his hands and chelsea fans need to take a step back and realise what hes doing. He is making something that can be sustained - Like the Barcelonas and Uniteds. Things will get worse before they get better, a lot worse. But when hes turned it round (on a smaller budget then other managers have had) you can then judge him, until then back off and hush up instead of acting like a bunch of glory hunters who want instant success, its ugly to see. This has been in the writing since Ranieri left and Jose joined. We are paying the price now as will City soon.
Couldn't have said it better. Your assessment of every player matches my thinking exactly. So we'll probably both be bollocked off the site !!!!
