Got to feel for Wilson, he's potentially joining us knowing he wasn't our first pick, the move only came about as Messi and Mbappe aren't leaving their clubs. As limited as he is he must be a good leader. We seemed to lack leaders the season we went down. So based on that and the fact he's the skipper i think he will play when fit.
We haven't had a top skipper since we sold Nolan. He was the commander of that dressing room, a distinctly average squad but a ferocious team spirit. Captained every club he was at. I think Jamaal is passionate, but as a defender he's just not a premier league player.

He’s championship at best. Fernandes is our best Cb. I honestly think Dummett and Clark are close 2nd. Lejeune I like but he’s not ever match fit and as a result he looks dreadful. Holding might fix a big problem.
I don't like Bruce's choice of cbs.. I think its going to leak goals. If you're going to drop schar and Lejeune then you need to be looking at better than lacelles and feddy.. I love feddy but it's those 2 together doesn't full me with confidence

He had a fight with Diame in training when Diame was being lazy and useless. What followed was then the longest purple patch of Diames' playing time with us. I'd say it was good leadership which did that. He's a very limited player but that has been exposed mostly by the fact we've got in some of the better defenders in the past 10-15 years. He's lower end of the Premiership standard whilst others we have are potentially mid-table.
Are any of them actually PL standard, whatever that is. Obviously they aren't solely responsible, but, Fernandez, Clark, Schar, Dummett, Lascelles have been relegated in recent years. Lejeune is the exception and he only had a single season in top flight football. Coincidence perhaps.
