Swanscartoon - your last few post have been a joy to read , you have your finger on the pulse without a doubt and your informed and well written words represent how most of us Think IMO .

You must have the patience of a saint to try and reason with the insane ramblings of resident madman daiswan !

It defies Logic that he can slag off laudrup for having a plan B ,C and D ! The same plan that got us a draw at everton a win away at Newcastle a win away at Chelsea ,away at Arsenal ,away at fulham etc, etc.

In fact it was These games that ensured survival not the standard football approach that some Think is the only way to play...

You have indeed wandered into the twilight sone trying to debate with dai. <ok>

Your WUM has been going on for a bit too long, personally I think you should get a warning. This is not about being unhappy with people who refuse to congratulate the swans at every opportunity, this is about this board tearing that Liverpool fan Noble a new asshole and since then you have been on the massive WUM because you do support Liverpool, you have shown so many times in the past you cannot handle it when people are negative toward Liverpool, and this is you now acting out because we here had the audacity to send a fellow Liverpool WUM packing with his tails between his legs a few days ago.

You can say what you want but now I have said it I doubt any Swans supporter here will believe your counter argument to this, you do it often, we say something slightly negative about your club often if it is warranted such as the Suarez debacles and you then go on a WUM rampage. Grow up Dai and just go hang out on the Liverpool boards for change, you are not a Swans fan so stop trying to convince others that you are.

Because the fact is you don't really want to believe what im saying is a valid point...you want to bury your head in the sand and hope its not true.....im still waiting for anyone to tell me that you are very happy with our premiership results since laudrup have took charge and why you are happy when nothing has gone to plan and results have been poor.....If you think we have done well under laudrup then say as there are many that cant see it...i will wait with bated breath and i bet i can prove anything you say wrong, so come on take me on if your confident...<laugh>

All i am seeing is fans trying to score points over me rather than say why they think our manager is doing a great job..there is lack of evidence and i can prove he is not......stop trying to score points as you will never win and have a proper discussion if you think im wrong...<ok>

<doh> all others on here can see is a defensive attitude using every trick in the book accusing me of a wum. <laugh> Come on im serious and i never wum about the swans ever. lets see some argument in the pro laudrup camp and tell us why you think he has done well in the premiership stakes....a lot of swans fans cant see it including me so lets hear it, explain why he is the right man for the job, Id love to see things improve but confidence is very low that he can do it to be honest......Discuss not make excuses..<ok>

Everybody....EVERYBODY...has clearly stated, at some point or another, that they are very happy with last season's 9th placed finish and first major trophy (THAT'S LAUDRUP'S RESULTS YEAH, HE TOOK OVER LAST SUMMER RIGHT?!?!)

He is doing a great job, find me one other person who agrees with you that he isn't.....I will find you 20 who says he is for every 1 you find, try it

You're right that nobody will ever "win", in your eyes, the argument with you

I'm happy with Laudrup in general at the moment. I'm not happy at some of the players performances occasionaly though.... Ashley Williams for one - he's either very good or crap at times. Most top players are far more consistent than him.
I'm disappointed by our results at the tail end of last season - but again I blame the players more than the manager. A manager can pick a player but the players performance is up to the player. eg it's not Brendan Rogers fault that he picked Suarez who then went on to bite Ivanovic is it ? If players make individual errors then the manager is not to blame.
I wasn't disappointed of the performance overall in the Man United game - just the result. However I was disappointed in the Spurs performance - I knew what to expect before the match - that we would just try and gold out for as long as we can and then lose a goal and it would be game over as we wouldn't be positive enough to go for goals. This was partially Laudrups issue plus the poor way the players performed regarding passing etc.

We fiinished to 10 last season, won the League Cup and are into the group stages (more or less) of the Europa League. If people want to slag Laudrup off when we play poorly then they have to give him credit when we achieve things as well.
One thing I'm sure of - it was Laudrup that wanted Michu here.........

A rational discussion, answer me the following;

1) When did Laudrup take over?

2) Across the season we finished in 9th place in the Premier League.
a) Did you feel we would finish higher at the start of last season?

b) Do you feel at the moment that we should have finished higher last season?

c) We won our first major trophy knocking out your beloved Liverpool and billionaires Chelsea in the process. We beat them both away from home, were those good results?

d) Considering your answers above, did last season "go to plan"?

3) The majority of us think Laudrup's results are fantastic and he is doing a great job. Prove us wrong on this with facts...

4) Liverpool had a great run of form at the end of last season and have opened up with 2 wins this season. Does this mean they are the best team in the country right now?

You wont respond though will you <laugh>

Id like to see this proof Dai, as whatever we did after the cup last season, was not entirely down to Laudrup.

Those same tactics had been used throughout the season, so why all of a sudden did it stop working?

Well in many respects it didn't stop working, there were still some good performances there, which we didn't get a result.

I mean lets look at the games we played AFTER the cup win.

Newcastle (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Tottenham (H)
Norwich (A)
Southampton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Man City (H)
Wigan (A)
Man Utd (A)
Fulham (H)

Realistically, we had already written off 15 of those points (Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea) - all fighting for something
Ideally we would have got a draw at West Brom and Wigan (fighting for survival)
And ideally we would have won the other 4 (Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton, Fulham)

So if results went the way we would have liked, even playing well, we would have liked to have got 14/33 points.

In reality we only got 9/33, so is that really a bad return in regards to the teams we actually played?

I mean think like a regular human being for a second Dai, and notice in those last 11 games, 6 of those teams finished in the top half. and some were fighting to avoid the drop.

But lets look at those 11 games for a second.

Newcastle - (h)
57% - Possesion - 43%
10 - Shots - 14
7 - On Target - 7
7- Corners - 7
9 - Fouls - 17
1 - GOALS - 0

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCBxW-I8dqE
The goal was a bit lucky, but other than 1 good chance for newcastle, it seemed the majjority were shots from out of the box. Where as we had a few clear chances that we just didn't put away, Williams, and Rangels shots for example. So based on the highlights, 2-1 on good chances, 1-0 final score, fair result.

West Brom - (a)
49% - Possession - 51%
12 - Shots - 9
6 - On Target - 4
3 - Corners - 3
9 - Fouls - 10
2 - GOALS - 1

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQR2KCoKTsU
Biggest moment of that match was the disallowed goal, which should have stood. We had good possession, plenty of shots, but didn't quite finish like we know this team could, take Michu's missed sitter, 9/10 he would score that, you then had the fluke deflection on the goal line clearance to give West Brom the lead. That game could have just as easily been 3 points to us if luck was on our side.

Arsenal - (h)
48% - Possession - 52%
9 - Shots - 15
2 - On Target - 11
3 - Corners - 7
2 - Fouls - 7
0 - GOALS - 2

HIGHLIGHTS: Couldn't find any decent ones
Strange game, again our finishing let us down, Arsenal deserved to win the game, but it did take 2 late goals, the 2nd being whilst we were pushing to get an equaliser and they caught us on the break. So no probs with that result other than the finishing.

Tottenham (h)
57% - Possession - 43%
11 - Shots - 9
3 - On Target - 7
5 - Corners - 2
5 - Fouls - 10
1 - GOALS - 2

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3ijoKWF3bQ
No-one can forget this match, we lost this game purely down to class, Bale's goal was top class, and his pass to Vertongen was top draw, with a lovely finish from Vertongen. Wasteful yet again though, 11 shots, just 3 on target? Poor finishing. Dyer hit the crossbar from what, 3 yards, Michu headed wide from what 5 yards. As said, the class of finishing is what won Spurs that game.

Norwich - (a)
49% - Possesion - 51%
12 - Shots - 16
9 - On Target - 9
2 - Corners - 5
8 - Fouls - 16
2 - GOALS - 2

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzdvyG7DL3Y
How we never won this game, I do not know. Was a cracking game, but we wasted so many chances. Not to mention the pie eater should have been sent off :p

Southampton - (h)
52% - Possesion - 48%
14 - Shots - 9
7 - On Target - 5
7 - Corners - 2
11 - Fouls - 13
0 - GOALS - 0

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfy1-i1yQBE
Southampton the better team first half, but we came out much better second half, again a hatfull of chances wasted. Which in the earlier half of the season we were putting those sort of chances away.

Chelsea - (a)
61% - Possesion - 39%
21 - Shots - 11
14 - On Target - 8
6 - Corners - 3
9 - Fouls - 10
2 - GOALS - 0

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFLvy7TOyM8
A game we realisticely knew we were never going to get anything from. Chelsea were not going to make the same mistake twice at home.

Man City - (h)
56% - Possesion - 44%
7 - Shots - 12
1 - On Target - 8
4 - Corners - 4
9 - Fouls - 10
0 - GOALS - 0

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COh91WSGOm8
Biggest memory is both Dzeco and Michu missing absolute sitters. A really good game, 0-0 being a fair result I think.

Wigan - (a)
50% - Possesion - 50%
14 - Shots - 10
11 - On Target - 6
4 - Corners - 4
14 - Fouls - 13
2 - GOALS - 3

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGCYV0R6ObM
This game was a strange one from us, but thankfully with a little luck (ok a huge slice of luck and some piss poor wigan defending) we got a result.

Man Utd - (a)
64% - Possesion - 36%
16 - Shots - 5
9 - On Target - 2
7 - Corners - 5
5 - Fouls - 6
2 - GOALS - 1

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URxmc8K2NME
The result was a bit unfair, after Man Utd's first goal came from some really poor, and I mean piss poor refereeing, can you remember it, the 50/50 challenge, that Taylor got stuck into in his first game back? That somehow, the referee thought was a ****ing Man Utd freekick. Absolute shocker. But what a finish from Michu, this finish just oozed class. We deserved a point for the effort we gave in this game.

Fulham - (h)
49% - Possesion - 51%
19 - Shots - 8
11 - On Target - 6
8 - Corners - 0
12 - Fouls - 9
0 - GOALS - 3

HIGHLIGHTS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZNgkZlmmGU
Even now I cannot figure out how the hell we lost this game, we were amazing going forward, but couldn't get the ball in the back of the net, Fulham didn't know what to do with us, but they took their chances, we didn't. But 3-0 would have been fair if it was the other way around based on how that game went.

So then Dai, I have done my bit, of providing my reasons for why those end of seasons games were deceiving in regards to how you say we were poor. Now its your turn.

Trying to get back on track- I do think ML picked the wrong side against spurs because what I see is that we have much better shape with Bony up front. I don't think he has all we need and his first touches last Thursday were deplorable but everyone else seems to have lost the plot a little until he comes on and then they seem to believe a little more. Poz has the inventiveness that No-one in the club has and his energy is just galvanizing - I would use him every game as we are until he takes over for Routs or Pablo. I would leave JDG on the bench unless there's an injury - just a lack of committment there. Early days but even though we won 5-1 last week there were enough failings to let ML know he has still got a lot of work to do. I know Dai rants about last season's end etc and though I NEVER agree with Dai - there is mental momentum - the guys were relaxed there was nothing in it for them - they- not ML - need to get their collective heads together and realize this league is a fight from minute one until the end of the season

Lumberjack well said, agree with your view there, and your thoughts on Poz!................... <ok>

As for Dai, can't be bothered with his stupidity!....when he's like this, he's best left alone, or humoured, nothing he is saying has any credibility, wouldn't argue with him, if we where 10 games in, but 2 games and he's kicking off??............. <laugh>

The recent polls on the Evening Post website suggests you are talking out of your ass, sunshine. Any Swansea fan would know that he was by and far the leader of that poll asking who was Swansea best ever manager. You are a joke, sunshine.
